Booked the class Pizza With Pizzazz with Chef Luana in Los Angeles (Central LA)
Chef Luana’s pizza class was fantastic! The first thing you learn is that great pizza is all about the dough, and Chef Luana does an incredible job explaining every step of the process in a way that’s both detailed and easy to follow. I had no idea how much craftsmanship goes into making the perfect dough until taking this class. Chef Luana is a wonderful teacher and is clearly passionate about what she does. My wife and I loved hearing her stories and learning the “why” behind each step, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. The pizzas we made were absolutely delicious, and we left feeling excited to recreate them at home. We can’t wait to put our new skills to use and are already looking forward to taking more of Chef Luana’s classes. Highly recommended for anyone who loves pizza or simply wants to learn from an exceptional instructor!

This was a birthday surprise for my partner and we had such a good time! Chef Luana was warm, welcoming, and hilarious. She was very detailed and hands-on in teaching us how to make spaghetti and fettuccine, and you can really sense her passion! The sauces she made to go along with the pasta (vegetable and ragu) were both so fresh and delicious. We were so proud of how our pasta came out lol, it was harder than we thought but such a rewarding process. Chef Luana also gave us super yummy brioche for dessert, and a little birthday gift for my partner which was so sweet. Overall, such a fun and special experience, and we had an amazing meal - thank you Chef Luana!

Chef Luana welcomed us as family for an unforgettable cooking class. Her love for cooking and years of experience was shared with us as we made the most delicious gnocchi. We enjoyed a homemade ragu gnocchi and a cheese blend gnocchi - both were so yummy, we couldn’t pick a favorite! We also indulged in bruschetta, and dessert. Chef Luana grew up in a part of Italy not far from where my grandfather grew up, which made the whole experience even more special and we felt right at home! Thank you, Chef Luana, for the most wonderful time and new culinary skills to last a lifetime. Hope to cook with you again soon! - James and Amanda

Booked the class Italian Steakhouse with Chef Francesca in Torrance (Northwest Torrance)
My husband and I have been wanting to take a cooking class for awhile. We love steak and Italian food so much so Chef Francesca's Italian steakhouse class piqued our interest. The drive was reasonable to Torrance from South LA. Parking was easy. Her home was so cute and clean and charming! Chef Francesca is such a kind, focused and effective teacher and coach. My husband Jeremy and I got to share the workload evenly. What I loved was how easy and fast the recipes were and how easy it was to time everything out while keeping a clean kitchen. The food was superb and we had amazing leftovers the next day. We had an amazing time and would go back to her or try another class with Cozymeal. I even love how she teaches earlier so that she can be a present mom, just an awesome lady. I feel like I can actually cook everything she presented. Please share with her or post so others know :) Thanks a bunch! Nicole

Chef Luana was great from start to end. I surprised my wife with a fettuccine and spaghetti making class and the experience overall was super great. The class was comprised of 3 couples and it was such an intimate vibe compared to bigger classes. Will be recommending to all my friends and will be coming back soon.
Booked the class Pasta Making Class with Chef Francesca in Torrance (Northwest Torrance)
What a lovely experience. 10/10!! My girlfriend and I booked this for Valentine's Day - pasta making in the morning. We were a bit hesitant to walk into a stranger's home with other strangers (lol), but Chef Francesca made us feel instantly right at home. Not only is she an incredible chef and clearly experienced, but she has a kind, positive soul and clearly loves what she does. Her home is also sweet. Contemporary and heartfelt touches of Italy. She also had cheese and crackers for us to touch on - real parm from Sardinia. We cooked two dishes altogether and they were YUM; portions were generous too...did not eat the rest of the day. So satisfied. Would absolutely recommend and do this again.
Booked the class Fundamentals of Handmade Pasta with Chef Luana in Los Angeles (Central LA)
We made fettuccini and spaghetti with a vegetable sauce and a ragu sauce and IT WAS AMAZING! Such a great experience as well, my girlfriend loved it. 10/10 I will order dinner as well
Booked the class Pasta Making Class with Chef Francesca in Torrance (Northwest Torrance)
Great experience with Chef Francesca. She was a great chef and a lovely host. Such a kind person, and such great food! One note, this class is not as hands on as others I have had in the past. Chef duties are shared, you are not making your own dish from start to finish. Not a bad thing, just important to know if you prefer one type of class over another. Also, the chef chooses your sauces beforehand, so if you’re dead set against any of the sauces, let her know and she can accommodate. Would recommend!

We started by making the pasta sauce, then moved on to preparing two types of pasta, spaghetti and fettuccine. Chef Luana guided us every step of the way, making everything easy to follow, and both dishes turned out absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this class—the chef is genuinely one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and the food was amazing.

We had such a fun time learning how to make sushi…a terribly fun experience!
Booked the class Italian Steakhouse with Chef Francesca in Torrance (Northwest Torrance)
We made pasta carbonara, steak, potatoes, and chocolate mousse with Francesca. It was amazing, and we are already looking forward to our next cooking class with her!
Booked the class Distinctive Tastes of Thailand with Marc V. in Sherman Oaks
Kamilla, our chef was informative, attentive and very personable. She helped us make such easy yet rich flavorful Thai food. I liked that we got the option taste each food one at A time. The cooking class was everything I hoped for and more! We only had 3 tables which gave private feel which was perfect for my boyfriend’s birthday gift. However, one thing is that one of the participants turned out to be a live streamer and he was distracting. Chef and the class was perfect, but may be in the future, you pre-screen participants to see if they plan on bringing a full production. Otherwise, thank you for a wonderful experience!! Thank you, Kamilla!!!

Our Moroccan cooking class with Chef Yasmina far exceeded our expectations. Yasmina is a great teacher, making sure everyone gets their needs and questions answered, and the food was truly amazing. Yasmina is an inspiring chef with a generous spirit - nothing was rushed and she even made an extra sauce just because we were interested. We left the class feeling confident that we could try these dishes at home, and that we also had learned much about cooking in general. We would highly recommend this class or anything that Chef Yasmina teaches.

Guests have been booking cooking classes on Cozymeal since 2014, exploring a wide range of cuisines and specialties, from pasta making and sushi making to Italian, French and many others. You could be making fresh pasta or practicing sushi techniques before sitting down to enjoy your creation. On Cozymeal, you can choose a class around something you’ve always wanted to cook or get a chef’s expertise in a specific culinary method.
Classes can focus on a particular skill, like preparing pizza dough or decorating a cake. Italian cooking classes in Los Angeles can take you through several regional dishes, while plant-based menus offer ideas for everyday meals. Beginner-friendly classes offer step-by-step guidance, while others give experienced home cooks a chance to practice a less familiar technique.
You can join a public class on your own, as a couple or with friends, or book a private session for your group. Cooking classes in LA can either take place at the chef’s venue or a chef can come to your home or another private location. You can also book a class at a premium venue that Cozymeal provides, especially for group cooking classes and team building activities.
“Our experiences are designed to be interactive, social, and approachable for all skill levels. Whether you're an experienced home cook or someone who rarely steps into the kitchen, you're going to be actively involved in preparing the food, so come ready to have fun and get your hands dirty!” — Chef Cregg, Los Angeles-based Cooking Class Chef on Cozymeal
A cooking class brings people together for a relaxed, intimate evening of food and chatter. Cooking alongside a chef gives you time to ask about regional specialties, find out why they use a particular ingredient or get advice on a dish you’ve tried at home. The conversation and connection are what the evening is all about. As you prepare the meal, you chat and discuss, and then you sit down to enjoy it. There’s space to share your own interests and hear about the food the chef knows best.
”More than cooking happens during the experience. It becomes a social experience where people connect, laugh, learn something new, and create a memorable meal together. It's much more than simply following a recipe.” — Chef Cregg
A cookbook is a great starting place when learning how to cook. But after some trial and error, and a few failures, it’s best to get advice from a top-rated chef. With a chef at your side, you can actively see the preparation, ask questions and practice with feedback. For example, you can clearly understand how the dough should feel when it’s ready for pasta or how tightly to roll your sushi.
Culinary experience matters, too. Chefs teaching through Cozymeal in Los Angeles bring experience in Michelin-starred kitchens, restaurant ownership and the food traditions they grew up with. Their backgrounds include professional cooking in Italy and Balkan and Mediterranean family cooking, giving you a chance to learn techniques and hear the stories behind the dishes as you prepare them.
Start with the food you want to make, then compare the chef, skill level, setting and amount of hands-on preparation.
All cooking classes available on Cozymeal are designed for beginners. They’re recreational classes, with no culinary training required, so you can try an unfamiliar cuisine without needing prior experience. You could shape gnocchi in a LA-based pasta making class or practice rolling sushi in a sushi making class, with a chef guiding you through each step. If you already enjoy cooking, use that time to ask more specific questions about the method or the chef’s regional specialties.
For a birthday, anniversary or Valentine’s Day date, consider the setting and how much privacy you’d like, along with a location that fits your plans around LA. If younger family members are joining, choose a kids cooking classes or cooking classes for teens that suits their age and gives them a chance to prepare dishes they’re excited to try.
In a public class, you’ll prepare the menu alongside other guests, sharing questions and conversation with the chef as you cook. It’s a social experience which is great for travelers to mingle with local chefs and also potentially make some new foodie friends. Private cooking classes in Los Angeles are reserved for your party, so you can spend the time with your partner, friends or family while learning directly from the chef.
Classes can take place at the chef’s venue, while selected chefs can also teach at your home or another private location. Whether at the chef’s place or your chosen location, Cozymeal takes care of the planning, logistics, and venue if needed. Your chef or host handles the ingredients, setup, and cleanup. All you or your team need to do is show up and enjoy. If your guests live across LA, gathering at one person’s home helps to simplify the activity.
"Groups are sometimes pleasantly surprised that the class is held in my home. Maybe they expect a restaurant or commercial kitchen. It’s more cozy than a restaurant. They love that the chef is sharing their private kitchen and space." — Chef Francesca, Los Angeles-based Cooking Class Chef on Cozymeal

Los Angeles is a sprawling city, and traffic can be a major factor when planning your culinary experience. Start with where you’ll be traveling from: Sherman Oaks and Woodland Hills may be convenient areas to consider for San Fernando Valley guests, Torrance for those in the South Bay, and Marina del Rey for those on the Westside. Compare available class locations with your starting point and preferred menu. A particular class may be worth a longer journey, but allow for travel time before booking.
An after-work drive during peak LA traffic on the 405 or 110 and a weekend late morning trip can make the same venue very different propositions. Cozymeal will also let you know if on-site parking is available, parking charges and the walk from your car to the entrance.
“Even a relatively short distance in LA can take much longer than expected, especially during rush hour, and parking is another factor. So I always recommend that guests give themselves plenty of time and plan to arrive a little early. Or consider using ride sharing services.” — Chef Cregg
Selected chefs can lead cooking classes at your home or another private location in the Los Angeles area. Share your address so service coverage can be confirmed for your chosen class. All you need is a sturdy work surface, water, trash access and enough space for all your participants. The chef arranges food, setup and cleanup. You can easily select “At your place” in the location field on the Cozymeal website.
Some mobile cooking classes don't even require access to a full kitchen. Experiences such as sushi making, taco making, guacamole making and charcuterie board workshops can be arranged at homes, offices and event spaces with minimal kitchen facilities.
Once you’ve found a menu you’d like to try, select a date and time for your party and check where you’ll be cooking and what’s included. All classes are beginner-friendly, so you won’t need previous experience. The booking form has a message field where you can tell the chef about allergies or dietary restrictions and discuss any requests.
With the ingredients in front of you, the chef explains the menu and shows you the techniques you’ll be practicing. You’ll work through the preparation together, with time to ask questions and get advice along the way. In an LA-based sushi making class, for example, you could roll rice and fish in seaweed to make maki or fold seaweed around rice and fillings to make cone-shaped temaki.
The conversation can follow your curiosity, too. Ask how a dish varies across regions, why the chef prefers a particular ingredient or tips on how to recognize the right texture. If you’re planning to cook it again, find out which steps you can prepare ahead and what equipment you’ll need at home. The chefs all have a wealth of knowledge, so use that to your advantage.
“Guests are usually really surprised with the quantity of food they cook up. Some people think the class won't give them enough food, but because of the generous portions, they end up not only eating, but leaving with a to-go box too, and they love it.” — Chef Francesca
Once the cooking is finished, you’ll usually sit down to enjoy what you’ve made. Depending on the menu, the chef may also serve dishes prepared ahead of the session. At the end of the class, the chef will either give you the menu and recipes to take home or send them to you through the Cozymeal system. Tasting the food gives you a chance to talk about how it came together and ask for any final pointers before trying the recipe in your own kitchen.
“Give yourself some extra time to explore the area and make a day of it. There are plenty of great restaurants, coffee spots, and local businesses around SoFi stadium and Inglewood, so guests can easily turn their cooking experience into a full LA outing.” — Chef Cregg
