Chef Vivian is awesome! My friend and I had a wonderful time getting to know her and learning about the history of New Orleans cooking from her. She had everything pre-prepped and was great at walking us through all of the steps of making the food. The food turned out incredible and the whole experience was the highlight of my trip to NOLA! Chef Megan created such a fun and memorable experience for my girlfriend’s birthday! The Asian-Cajun cooking class was the best way to start the week and Megan made it super easy- she brought all of the ingredients and gave us things to do. The food was absolutely amazing and it was such a chill and romantic evening. Chef Jerry was an excellent host. We did our session with another lovely couple who were also a delight to be around. The session was at Chef Jerry's house and personal kitchen, and we were greeted with already prepped ingredients. We were initially hesitant about the session being only 1.5 hours long, but Chef Jerry was very efficient in the kitchen and multitasked everything so that even dinner was included in that 1.5 hour length. While we would have wanted the session to be even more hands on (having each person with their own kitchen station and cook their meal vs more of a demo with participants helping with prep), we highly appreciated Chef Jerry's in depth knowledge of the meals made, including a secret sauce that was able to be utilized for 3 separate dishes without it tasting the same in the end. We were also surprised to have additional menu items instead of just what's advertised, as Chef Jerry was indeed very generous with his time and resources. He also sent us the recipe afterwards which we also appreciated. Overall, the session was definitely a highlight of our trip down to NOLA!

We really enjoyed our experience with Chef Aleck. I found and booked this cooking class with Aleck because he specializes in plant based cooking, and we were going to be visiting New Orleans with my family. My dad transitioned into a predominantly vegan diet in the last 2 years and while I wanted to learn some new vegan dishes I also wanted to enjoy the local creole flavors and requested changing up our menu a bit. I really appreciated how accommodating Aleck was to my request. I’ve done a cooking class at a culinary institute so I thought this would be a fun birthday experience as we scheduled it on my birthday. The personalized and tailored lesson was really fun and Chef Aleck helped inspire us with some new and creative dishes we are excited to make in our own kitchens! The 3 of us that did the lesson all cook frequently in our own kitchens, but I think we all still learned a few new things which was my hope! My dad who usually prefers to learn on his own and was skeptical of the experience also really enjoyed the whole thing, which I think is a testament to Aleck’s proper planning and flexibility to the clients. I really appreciated how budget conscious Aleck was and he talked through all the changes with me and how he could try to work within our budget. This was a really fun experience that I would totally do again, and recommend to others! One of my favorite parts was that Chef Aleck basically cleaned everything for us which really made the experience feel more fun & informative and less like work!! While we enjoyed the fruits of our labor from the first 2 dishes, Chef Aleck was cleaning up the kitchen before our next course and had the entire kitchen clean and all the leftover ingredients organized and put away. It was so nice! It was like hiring a private chef but you also got to learn and be hands on with him, too.
