Booked the class Make Pillowy Gnocchi From Scratch with Chef Anna in Los Angeles (Woodland Hills)
My cousin and I had the absolute pleasure of cooking gnocchi with Chef Ana and her mother! We felt like we were home with family, we felt safe and honored !! We learned culturally how gnocchi is made in Rome! We had everything we needed. They also provide a nice ambiance with music. 10/10 recommend. We will be back to make lasagna ☺️
Booked the class Sushi Night: Four Signature Rolls with Chef Willow in South Bay Los Angeles (Downtown Core)
We had an amazing time with Chef Willow. We went from all having zero skills to making what felt like perfect sushi from a restaurant. Really impressed by the class and feeling way more confident to try on my own now. Highly recommend taking a class and getting to enjoy your own creation. Chef is very friendly and very knowledgeable. She made sure we were all feeling very comfortable in a new environment.

Anna & Paola taught us gluten-free gnocchi. They are fantastic teachers and spending time with them is an absolute delight! What we made came out perfectly & delicious, and the appetizer & dessert that they brought were also wonderful. Can't wait to take another class from them!!
Booked the class Sophisticated Sushi with Marc V. in Sherman Oaks
We had such a fun time learning how to make sushi…a terribly fun experience!
Booked the class Distinctive Tastes of Thailand with Marc V. in Sherman Oaks
Kamilla, our chef was informative, attentive and very personable. She helped us make such easy yet rich flavorful Thai food. I liked that we got the option taste each food one at A time. The cooking class was everything I hoped for and more! We only had 3 tables which gave private feel which was perfect for my boyfriend’s birthday gift. However, one thing is that one of the participants turned out to be a live streamer and he was distracting. Chef and the class was perfect, but may be in the future, you pre-screen participants to see if they plan on bringing a full production. Otherwise, thank you for a wonderful experience!! Thank you, Kamilla!!!
Booked the class Sophisticated Sushi with Marc V. in Sherman Oaks
We had an amazing sushi cooking experience to celebrate my husband’s birthday. From the very beginning, they responded very quickly to messages and were always available and attentive. The experience was fun, pleasant, and truly special. I was very grateful for the opportunity to learn about the origins of everything and a bit of the history behind sushi, which made it even more meaningful. I would definitely do this again in the future and highly recommend it.

We weren’t exactly sure what to expect, but it was an awesome experience. We made sushi with Kamilla and it was soooo fresh, tasty, and fun! We really enjoyed learning different techniques and trying so many variations of sushi. It was a great time (and a lot of food - go hungry)! The cooking space was nice, too.
Booked the class Culinary French Flair with Chef Mo in West Covina (Walnut Valley)
The food was delicious and chef Mo was great! He was very welcoming and kind. He is very experienced and he was very good at sharing his knowledge. We walked into a dining room decorated for Valentine’s Day which was perfect because my husband and I decided to do this as our little celebration.
Booked the class Handcrafting Pizza for Every Occasion with Chef Cregg in Los Angeles (South Los Angeles)
Great class, chef is a great teacher! We made Neapolitan style pizza and some salad and what made the class especially memorable was chef's attention to detail, personalized approach, and explanation of the science behind the cooking process. It added so much depth to the experience and really enjoyed learning from him
Booked the class Fine Italian Dining with Chef Seyhan
She made us a warm salad, pizza, and crème brûlée! I did this to celebrate Father’s Day for my husband. It was nice to not have to leave the house since we had a baby with us. She was very organized, clean, hip cool and friendly! It made it nice and casual which my husband said he appreciated. She was also nice by complimenting us. She brought lots of produce that was organic and from the farmers market. She cleaned up everything after and my favorite part was that she left us a lot of leftovers! So we could multiple meals out of it! Everything was delicious! Multiple types of pizza too! And I’ve never had a warm salad, it was full of roasted veggies and this yummy green sauce! The crème brûlée was amazing too.

Chef David recently led a charcuterie board cooking class for our organization, and I cannot recommend him enough. Not only was he punctual and professional, but his personable nature and fun-loving attitude made the entire experience enjoyable for everyone. The quality of his ingredients and tools was outstanding, and it was evident that he takes great pride in what he does. The class was not only informative but also a whole lot of fun, and Chef David's expertise and passion for cooking shone through. We were thoroughly impressed and satisfied with the event, and we look forward to working with Chef David again in the future.

Chef Cregg led an incredible cooking class where my girlfriend and I crafted delicious handmade ravioli from scratch. Beyond the tasty outcome, Chef Cregg's thoughtful approach stood out. He not only shared his culinary expertise but also accommodated my allergies, going the extra mile to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. His passion for cooking and genuine care for participants shine through. The added bonus? A fantastic playlist that added to the overall joy. If I could, I'd give him a 100/10 score for an outstanding culinary and personal touch!

I had the pleasure of booking Chef Cregg for a private Mother's Day French vegan cooking experience with my mom and it was absolutely fantastic! Chef Cregg's warm and kind personality made the experience even more enjoyable. We had a lot of fun and learned so much. It was a memorable Mother's Day that we will cherish forever. I highly recommend Chef Cregg, even for non vegans. The food was delicious and eye opening, showcasing the possibilities of plant-based eating. The three-hour experience was perfectly curated and the meals were incredibly decadent. We left feeling stuffed and satisfied. Booked the class Vegan French Cooking with Chef Cregg in Tarzana
I can't say enough great things about Chef Cregg! I booked him for a private lesson with my wife and I for her birthday and we were so happy with the night. Not only was the food delicious, he taught us great skills, introduced us to new methods of cooking and he brought great energy and vibes the whole night! We are already talking about other dates to work with him again, maybe even with more people because he's a gem that more people need to meet. Highly, highly recommend! And for context, we had the French Vegan Dinner, which was INCREDIBLE. My wife and I are both vegan and he made sure that we were well taken care of. We also had plenty of leftovers which we really appreciate as meal preppers ourselves.

We had a fantastic time with Chef Cregg. He is very knowledgable, a great teacher and excellent chef. We preferred to have a cooking demonstration instead of a cooking class and he was very accommodating. Highly recommended!
Booked the class A Culinary Journey to Southern France with Chef Cregg in Los Angeles (South Los Angeles)
Chef Cregg is the real deal. He has a strong background as a chef and he’s a great teacher. It’s rare to find both! His space has a cool warehouse conversion-type vibe. The equipment we used was pretty basic, which makes it more likely that we’ll be able to replicate the techniques at home. With that said, this was a busy lesson with lessons learned around every corner. Definitely need to bring some energy to get the most out of it.
Booked the class A Culinary Journey to Southern France with Chef Cregg in Los Angeles (South Los Angeles)
We joined Chef Cregg for an advanced class although we are beginners. Chef adapted and took the time to first re-explained a bunch of basics such as knives holding and slicing (vegetables, meat, etc). Everything was setup in advance (materials, ingredients) so we can focus on the prep and cooking and we had 1 station each with plenty of space. Chef would show us the expectations, teaches us techniques (ex: how to use the different robots and tools) and I loved that he let us do everything. My BF and I really enjoyed the experience, the food turned out great and we had leftovers :P Highly recommend Chef Cregg and his Southern France menu!
Booked the class A Culinary Journey to Southern France with Chef Cregg in Los Angeles (South Los Angeles)
Lovely experience at Chef Cregg's unique and artsy space in Oakland. As others have said, his lessons are packed with practical and actionable tidbits and he's an experienced teacher, sharing his knowledge and expertise in a way that anyone, from the novice to the experienced, can learn something new to take home. You can sense his creative side in every part of his studio space, full of interesting details, every tool ever needed, and funky music to make the evening special. At first glance, the menu might seem simple, but don't be fooled: this is truly a special dinner, with delicious flavors, surprise ingredients (luxurious ones, too), and using all kinds of expert techniques. It's a meal you are going to want to replicate for someone special in your life. We were a bit slow on the cooking, so we only got eating by the time our session should have been done. The result is that we gobbled everything up super quickly (wish we had had a bit more time to relax, but we also had a babysitter waiting). So while you should bring an appetite, I'd suggest eating a light snack before coming so that you aren't like us, trying to eat everything as we were making it. We enjoyed our time at Chef Cregg's and highly recommend this experience!
Booked the class A Taste of Modern Techniques with Chef Cregg in Los Angeles (South Los Angeles)

Booked the class Make Pillowy Gnocchi From Scratch with Chef Anna in Los Angeles (Woodland Hills)
We made gnocchi. I'm excited to try it at home. So easy & delicious. We had a fantastic night. Two families, lifelong friends. Our college kids are all home together for just a short bit & they wanted to do something different than the typical dinner at a restaurant. They wanted an experience. And we had a blast. Such a great night.

Booked the class Ravioli and Italian Favorites with Chef Cregg
If you can, request Chef Cregg specifically — you will not be disappointed. We gathered at a colleague's home for what turned out to be one of the best team events we've done in a long time. Chef Cregg showed up ready to teach and delivered well beyond what we expected. The menu was impressive from start to finish. We made fresh ricotta-stuffed ravioli with pesto sauce completely from scratch; we also made a gorgeous caprese panzanella salad; and for dessert, an olive oil cake with strawberry compote and fresh basil that tasted heavenly. The real standout was our instruction. Chef Cregg is patient, encouraging, and genuinely passionate — with a natural ability to meet every skill level where they are. Also importantly, he has a sense of humor. Our group ranged from true novices to more experienced home chefs, and everyone stayed engaged and walked away having learned something. Quietly working alongside him was Chef Cory, whose calm, steady presence kept everything running smoothly. They had a way of appearing right where they were needed, offering a helpful hand and encouragement, then seamlessly stepping back — the kind of support you almost don't notice until you realize how effortlessly the whole thing flowed. Hosting 19 colleagues in someone's kitchen could have been chaotic. Instead, it felt relaxed and fun, and that's a credit to both of them. Whatever you're planning — book Chef Cregg.

Contact the Cozymeal Team
Team building activities in Los Angeles give colleagues time to socialize and have fun outside the usual workday. Guests have booked cooking classes through Cozymeal since 2014, choosing from a wide range of cuisines and specialties that include pasta making, sushi making, Italian, French and many others. Teams can prepare a dish together, tackle a cooking challenge, learn cocktail techniques or explore Los Angeles through a guided food tour.
While a company lunch offers time to talk, a guided culinary activity adds shared preparation and decisions. Shared meals also have a place in workplace research. Research from Cornell University found that platoons of firefighters who ate together more frequently received higher ratings for group performance. The study examined ongoing workplace habits, so it does not establish what a single team event will achieve.
In a cooking class, a chef demonstrates a technique before colleagues try it themselves and share the preparation. A cooking competition splits teams into smaller groups and gives them a menu to complete within the same timeframe. Los Angeles teams can choose from chef-led cooking classes, explore mobile events for an office or private venue, or follow a guide between food tasting stops, depending on availability. In-person mixology classes offer another option for colleagues interested in cocktails and spirits.
The appeal of team building activities in LA is that nobody has to manufacture a reason to interact. Someone prepares an ingredient, another person keeps an eye on timing, and teammates coordinate the next step before sitting down to eat. The conversation has somewhere to start.
That makes cooking classes particularly useful when a team includes people who don’t normally interact for any reason during the working day. A new employee can take part in the same recipe as a senior manager and someone who rarely cooks can still contribute alongside the more confident home chefs on the office floor. But of course, no previous experience is necessary!
The format of the class is adaptable. If you’ve just formed a new department, for example, and need a more intimate setting, a hands-on class provides an easy way to spend time together. Energetic cooking competitions can suit larger groups that know each other well while food tours can be a useful choice for visiting colleagues because they combine an organized activity with the chance to see part of Los Angeles beyond the office windows.
“Guests often ask me about Italy, especially Sardinia, where I’m from. They enjoy learning about another culture while cooking and spending time together.” — Chef Francesca, Los Angeles-based Cooking Class Chef on Cozymeal
Choosing between the different LA-based team building ideas starts with the people attending. Consider how many colleagues are coming, how hands-on they want to be and where their journeys begin. A department celebration, a client visit and a gathering after a demanding project may each call for a different pace.
Team size is the clearest starting point. A small group and a large department need different formats even if you have the same goal in mind. A private cooking class gives a small team or leadership group time to cook and talk together. For a midsize department, look for a class with enough space for colleagues to share the preparation. Team building events for large groups are also available on Cozymeal, including cooking competitions that divide colleagues into smaller teams. Choose an experience with the capacity and level of competition that suit your group.
Clients or colleagues visiting from out of town may appreciate a Los Angeles food tour, with a guide handling the route and introducing the tasting stops. After a demanding project, the team may welcome an outing with room to talk between bites. For a milestone or end-of-year gathering, a cooking competition or an available in-person mixology session can give the celebration a more active focus.
Not every team is in the same room, either. Online cooking classes, online mixology and virtual wine tastings bring Southern California colleagues into a live session with coworkers in other states or abroad, where supported. Coordinate time zones and participant requirements before booking. Select experiences offer kits, with cost and delivery coverage depending on the listing.
Cozymeal can arrange San Francisco team building activities for groups of 2 to 200+ guests, depending on the format, venue and date. Choose a private cooking class for a smaller gathering or explore large cooking classes and competitions that give colleagues shared tasks. For a food tour, larger groups can be divided into smaller parties with separate guides. Capacity varies by experience and venue, and Cozymeal helps arrange the host, planning, logistics and a suitable space if needed. The event can also be tailored to your goals and available time. Shorter formats, such as a one-hour activity at an office or company offsite, can be discussed when arranging your event.
The table below connects group activities in Los Angeles with the people attending.
Team type | Recommended formats | What to know |
Small team or leadership group | Private cooking classes or food tours | Prioritize time for questions and conversation; confirm that the booking is exclusive to your group if privacy matters. |
Midsize department | Group cooking classes or in-person mixology classes | Compare hands-on food preparation with drink-making. Check capacity and private-booking options before settling on a session. |
Large company group | Cooking competitions or an available group cooking event | Look at how the experience divides responsibilities, alongside its capacity and space requirements. |
Newly formed or cross-department team | Beginner-friendly group cooking classes | A shared recipe gives colleagues a reason to coordinate without relying on existing friendships or cooking confidence. |
Client event or visiting colleagues | Food tours or an available mobile class at a suitable hotel | A food tour offers local exploration; a hotel event can avoid an additional journey. |
Remote or hybrid team | Online cooking classes, online mixology classes or virtual wine tastings | Coordinate time zones for Southern California colleagues and those farther afield. Check kit cost and shipping coverage for select experiences. |
Cozymeal takes care of planning and logistics for team building events in Los Angeles, including arranging the chef and a venue if needed. For in-person cooking events, ingredients and equipment are included, and the chef handles setup, cooking instruction and cleanup. Your team can focus on preparing the meal together and enjoying the experience.
“Teams should know that not all cooking classes come with wine or alcohol because the venues need a liquor license and not all of them have one. In most cases, they can bring their own alcoholic beverage, but should ask beforehand.” — Chef Francesca
Planning team building in LA means factoring in the drive as much as the destination. As large and sprawling as Los Angeles is, the venue with the fewest miles on the map isn't always the fastest to reach because traffic can matter more than distance. Start with where the team works or where most people will already be that day, then consider where they need to go afterward.
When planning a team event in the Los Angeles area, consider where colleagues will be traveling from, including Downtown LA, South Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks, Santa Monica and Culver City. A convenient choice depends on where your colleagues are starting: compare the trip from the office, their hotel or other meeting points at the planned event time. Check parking and accessible entry before confirming the location.
“Guests often underestimate the journey to my classes in Torrance, especially when they’re taking the 405 south. Check the travel time for when you’ll actually be coming, rather than judging by the distance.” — Chef Francesca
For an outdoor food tour in Los Angeles, consider walking distances and sun exposure as well as the forecast. An indoor cooking or mixology experience may be more comfortable for colleagues who prefer to avoid an outdoor route.
Once you've picked an experience, Cozymeal will confirm headcount, date, time, location and any requirements directly with the host. You can share allergies and dietary restrictions during the booking process in the message field to the chef, so they can accommodate you. Share building access details if the event is happening at your Los Angeles office. Select online events ship ingredient kits to participants ahead of time.
The host welcomes the group, explains how the session works, and demonstrates the first technique. A cooking class might get colleagues to craft fresh pasta together, while a competition splits the group into smaller teams with their own tasks to complete. Online events work the same way, where the host leads everyone through the same steps in real time, wherever they're logging in from. A guided food tour moves the group between tasting stops.
“At my pasta experiences, guests make fresh dough from scratch, learn to roll and shape it, and create handmade ravioli before sitting down to eat together. You don’t need cooking experience, but come ready to get involved.” — Chef Cregg, Los Angeles-based Cooking Class Chef on Cozymeal
Cooking classes finish with the dishes colleagues have prepared together. The chef will either give participants the menu and recipes to take home or send them through the Cozymeal system. Competitions may include judging or recognition, depending on the listing, while mixology sessions leave time to compare flavors and techniques. A guided food tour concludes after its final tasting stop, so organizers can plan the next part of the day around the finishing location.
“If you’re coming to my morning class in Torrance, I suggest a walk at Redondo Beach afterward if you have time. You still have the rest of the day to enjoy.” — Chef Francesca
Explore group activities in Los Angeles for your next department gathering, client visit or team celebration. Browse available experiences or contact Cozymeal with your preferred date, approximate headcount, location, budget, event goals, and dietary or accessibility needs. Include where colleagues will be coming from so travel can be part of the conversation.
