Measure and prep all ingredients.
Prepare the dates. In a small bowl, combine the dates and hot water. Let the dates soak for 3-5 minutes, until softened.
Once the dates have softened, remove the pits and the hard stem ends.
In the jar of a blender, add the pitted dates and the cold milk. Blend until smooth and frothy.
Add the vanilla ice cream and pulse to blend until thick and creamy.
Serve immediately. Enjoy!
