For the Brown Sugar Syrup

dark muscovado or brown sugar
12 oz
water
For the Oolong Tea
10 g
loose leaf oolong tea
16 oz
water
For the Milk Mixture
1 tblsp
half-and-half
1 tblsp
sweetened condensed milk

Directions 7 steps | 20 Minutes

Step 1

Prepare the brown sugar syrup. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the brown sugar and water Cook until the sugar dissolves and the syrup reduces slightly, 5–7 minutes. Set aside.

Prepare the oolong tea. Place 10 grams of loose leaf oolong tea into a teabag.

In a medium pan over medium heat, combine the water and the oolong tea bag. Bring the tea to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to steep for 30 minutes.

Make the milk mixture. In a small bowl or liquid measuring cup, whisk together the half-and-half and sweetened condensed milk until combined.

Assemble the oolong milk tea. Fill a tall glass with ⅔ cup of oolong tea. Top with ice.

Add one tablespoon of the milk mixture and one tablespoon of brown sugar syrup. (See notes 1.)

Stir with an extra-wide straw and serve. Sip and enjoy!

  1. You can adjust the amount of brown sugar syrup and milk mixture to taste.
