Directions 9 steps | 20 Minutes
Make the salted caramel sauce. In a medium heavy saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and whisk as it melts. The sugar may clump together but will melt completely over time. Cook the sugar until it becomes a deep amber color.
Once the sugar reaches an amber color, add the butter and stir until completely incorporated.
Pour in the heavy cream. Be careful as the mixture will foam up. Whisk until you reach a smooth sauce.
Stir in the salt and set aside to cool.
In a separate bowl, use either a whisk or an electric mixer to whip the cream cheese and brown sugar together until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is fluffy and smooth.
Mix in the vanilla extract. Set aside.
Assemble the caramel apple dip. In a small bowl, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly. Layer the salted caramel sauce on top of the cream cheese mixture.
Sprinkle the top with the toffee bits and chopped hazelnuts.
Serve with crisp apple slices. Enjoy!
