Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone sheet. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in the applesauce and vanilla, then fold in the oats. Fold in the flour mixture in three additions.

Fold in the chocolate chips until just incorporated. Do not over-mix.

Using a cookie scoop, spoon the dough onto the baking sheet.
