cacao powder
1 tblsp
dairy-free dark chocolate chips
a tiny pinch of salt
1 tblsp
maple syrup, or more to taste
whipped coconut cream, for topping
shaved dairy-free chocolate, for garnish

Measure and prep all ingredients.

In a small pot over low heat, add the oat milk, cacao powder, dairy-free chocolate chips and salt.

Heat, stirring frequently, until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth and heated through.

Transfer the hot chocolate to a mug and stir in maple syrup.

Notes:

  • Full-fat oat milk is important. Any other type of oat milk will result in a thinner, less creamy hot cocoa.

I never tried full fat oat milk before this recipe... this is the BOMB! Great for those cold, rainy nights when all you want to do is snuggle up in a blanket with a book and sip on a decadent cup of hot chocolate!
