He has perfected the art of crafting timeless cocktail favorites and is also adept at creating elaborate concoctions that push the limits of molecular gastronomy. jalapeño, deseeded and sliced
1/2 oz
agave nectar
1 oz
fresh lime juice
1/4 oz
mezcal
2 oz
blanco tequila
1
pinch of salt, as garnish
1
sage leaf, as garnish

Directions 6 steps | 6 Minutes

Step 1

In the cup of a shaker, muddle one thin slice of jalapeño. (See Notes)

Combine agave nectar, fresh lime juice, mezcal and tequila into the shaker.

Add ice to the shaker, then shake back and forth for 10 seconds.

Strain into a short glass over ice.

Sprinkle one pinch of salt on the top layer of the cocktail. Rub the rim of the glass with a sage leaf for 5 seconds, then use it as a garnish.

Notes:

Be sure to remove the seeds from the jalapeño. If you prefer your cocktail really spicy, then you may leave them as is. Cheers!

This was a super tasty twist on a traditional margarita! Just the right amount of heat to kick it up notch and make it memorable! Easy to make and will absolutely bring this one out at our next dinner party! Cheers!
