Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Place the Parmesan cheese in eight small piles, at least 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is lightly browned and bubbly.
Remove the crisps from the sheet pan from the oven. Season with black pepper, if desired. Cool completely. (See notes 1.)

Notes:
- Parmesan cheese crisps can be molded into various shapes when hot. Be careful when handling the cheese crisps when they’re hot.
- Parmesan cheese crisps can be stored in an air-tight container for up to 5 days.
