After high school, he attended Johnson and Wales University, the Cordon Bleu Paris and finished an externship in the United Kingdom. He then headed to New York City where he worked in small restaurants before landing in L.A. where he worked at a restaurant and taught at Le Cordon Bleu Los Angeles.
