Chef Parsati

I gave Chef Parsati's "Explore Northern India" class to my sister as a present and it certainly was a fun experience to have together. Chef took the time to learn about our cooking habits at home and tailored her tips and tricks to our needs. It really felt like we were hanging out in a friend's kitchen. All the recipes felt very approachable, and everything turned out delicious! We were so excited to try these new recipes again that we drove to the Indian grocery store nearby right after the class, and picked up some supplies.

Chef Parsati’s cooking class was so much fun! The dishes she helped us create were delicious, and we will be able to make them at home now. Her directions were very clear and easy to follow. She answered all of our questions and was great to be around. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Not what we expected it was more like a cooking class from a home cook using ingredients from their refrigerator really dissapointed ?

My wife and I really enjoyed this class! It took place in Chef Parsati’s studio, an apartment that I think she mostly uses for these classes. It was comfy and of course had a beautiful kitchen. There was one other man there attending the class in the same time slot, and we all were given a chance to participate in the cooking. Chef Parsati is friendly, a lot of fun, and is clearly a well-rounded and knowledgeable chef. We learned about the origins of the dishes, and of course she showed us how to prepare them. Beyond that, though, this was really a “cooking class.” She actually taught us about why certain ingredients go together, what substitutions can be made for dietary restrictions or simply for a different flavor variation, and also what ingredients or flavors not to try in the dish because they wouldn’t go well (and why). She taught us how to make the dishes richer or lighter. Cooking classes are often just about following instructions and then eating. Chef Parsati gave us information we could use for lots of different dishes with an Indian flavor profile. I’m sure her classes from other cuisines would provide a similarly broad understanding of how to recreate the flavor profile of that cuisine. She taught us how much heat to apply at various stages for each dish (to achieve the proper char, without burning, for example). She really explained why we were doing what we were doing at each step, which makes me more confident we’ll be able to recreate it. Last but not least, the food was great!!

We had a great experience learning from Chef Parsati and enjoyed a wonderful meal! She's extremely knowledgable and did a great job explaining a lot of her approach along the way. We look forward to integrating her tips into our cooking!

Chef Parsati made us feel so comfortable from the second we walked in. She was so welcoming, friendly, and very educational. We really enjoyed making and eating every dish during our class. It was a very special and tasty way to celebrate Valentine’s Day for my wife and I.

What a delight to meet Chef Parsati and learn the wisdom and magic of cooking vegan Indian complete meal with her. We were 2 couples, celebrating our husband's birth days- rather then adding more gadgets, we added a beautiful and heart warming memory and learned new skills in the process. The space was well set for hosting at least few more people if needed. The ingredients all organic, fresh when possible. We learned the different variations of the dishes (great home work for future home meals to come). Chef Parsati shared bit of history about some of the dishes, the regions in India they come from, what influences a dish and ways to substitute ingredients based on dietary preferences, why it is better to use certain oils for cooking and much more. I loved to learn the science and reasoning as well as experience the many unique flavors of the Indian kitchen. This evening was truly a combination of culinary art, science, passion for sharing the love of cooking, super tasty and healthy meal as well as great memorable experience with our friends. My friends are already gathering the next dishes they wish to learn.. we will sure be back. Thanks you very much for a wonderful evening.

Wonderful experience and cooking class. As someone new to vegan cuisine, I learned so much including how to get more protein and how to spice things up to make them more interesting. The whole experience was fantastic! The location was convenient and parking was easy. Chef Parsati has the entire space set up to accommodate the class and is able to taylor the experience to your needs. She educated us on traditional Indian flavors and the spices used in the cooking, provided clear instructions, and made accommodations for our food allergies. Best of all the food was incredible! She uses high quality ingredients, and it shows. So delicious! She sent us the recipes following the sessions so we could make the dishes at home! 100% will do another class with Chef Parsati!

All I can say is WOW!!! My college son (21) and I had a wonderful experience learning about Indian cooking, spices, how to combine, and how to enjoy. We loved attending the Hawaiian cooking class. Chef Parsati was very clean, believed in healthy cooking and educated us along the way. We made Hawaiian rice, huli huli chicken, potatoes, coco pops and had a wonderful experience making vegetarian poke with dressing. I had the joy of experiencing a cooking class with Chef Parsati. Learning from her was such an honor, and I loved how she explained every step and the purpose of the ingredients. She has traveled the world to learn what she knows, and I can't help but want to take more classes from her to learn more. We cooked 3 dishes in total, and they were all so freaking delicious. We made chicken kebobs, sahi aloo palak, halwa, and panchmel dal. I WANTED TO KEEP EATING BUT I COULDN'T!!! MY STOMACH COULDN'T HANDLE ANY MORE FOOD! 10/10 would recommend and would come back for another class

Chef Parsati was so thorough and informative throughout the process, explaining how flavors mix, which oils to use when and why, and the best types of pots/pans to use - especially which ones not to use for certain outcomes. She made a point to understand how we like to cook, what foods we like to cook, what methods we prefer, and how often we cook (like daily after work versus meal-prepping). Throughout the evening, she made substitution suggestions that matched our own preferences - from food substitutions to InstaPot/Air Fryer over stove-top cooking. We learned so much from Chef Parsati, and we absolutely loved out personalized our experience was! Finally, the food: I booked the Tropical Hawaiian Fare class, and by golly was it fabulous! I loved how healthy all of the ingredients were, and it was all so simple to make! Every item just knocked our socks off. Chef Parsati created a fun experience for my girl friend and I. Over the hour we cooked 3 dishes with the indochinese theme and spent 30min eating and chatting with the chef. The dishes were yummy and the home kitchen setting felt comfortable and intimate. We did wish the class was more hands-on and it did feel a little short.

I went to the class with my wife. The class with chef Parsati was fun and entertaining. She explains the different flavors you are adding and is with you throughout the process to make sure everything is running good. You can even put on your own music which definitely helps when you are preparing food. When we tried the meals we prepared it was so yummy. I would recommend her and would come back for another class.

It was a fun experience and I felt like I learned some new things from class! We definitely walked away adding some staple items on our next grocery list. I thought it would be a little more hands on and the work would be distributed more evenly with the class but I did feel like I was able to learn from watching most of the time.

We loved the Healthy Seasonal Cooking class - Chef Parsati is very knowledgable, professional, and an excellent teachers. We cook a lot, including some indian food, yet we learned quite a few new tips and tricks. The menu was very well designed, and the flavors were even better than we expected. Specifically the fish dish was a killer. We would highly reccommend both Chef Parsati and this class to anyone!

Chef Parsati's Indian Cooking Techniques class is the second class I have taken from her. As with my first experience, the class was a delight, with easy-to-follow, hands-on instruction provided with informative technical and historic background. Chef Parsati goes out of here way to ensure a warm, comfortable, and accommodating atmosphere, with the class culminating with a lunch of the truly delicious food we prepared. After the first class, I was easily able to prepare every dish presented and have done so repeatedly. I look forward to cooking the the dishes from my second class. Furthermore, as I did with the first class, I also look forward to applying the lessons learned, both in cooking techniques and Indian spices, to other dishes. Chef Parsati's classes were well worth the money, and I recommend them. In fact, Chef Parsati offers yet another class that includes Indian royal chicken/vegetable biriyani. I plan to take that class next.

My husband and I took the Tropical Hawaiian Fare class with Chef Parsati as a belated birthday present for him and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent and she did a great job of explaining the steps and how we could use the recipes as a base to modify from when cooking at home. I'll definitely be making all of the recipes again. I was really pleased with the vegetarian options available because some of the people I enjoy cooking for are vegetarian and I'm looking forward to sharing these dishes with them too! My only regret is that I didn't sign up for one of her classes earlier because we're moving out of state and I don't know if I can make the time to squeeze any more classes in before we leave. Don't make my mistake!

My small but global team of 6, which came from across the country and Europe, gathered in the kitchen of Chef Parsati for a cooking class as our team building event. We choose the class with foods that are great for the mind and mood. Chef Parsati was personable, energizing, curious about our culinary backgrounds and accommodating our dietary restrictions and preferences. Spending evening in a cozy home atmosphere while cooking, talking, tasting, learning and eating was a great way to relax after a full day of meetings. The menu was simple, nutritious and delicious. Chef Parsati explained every recipe and shared tips on spices, ingredients and preparation. Everyone had an apron and chopping board. It was like a cooking academy! We went our homes/hotels satiated, relaxed and in a very good mood. Strongly recommend it!

Chef Parsati was a wonderful instructor and the class exceeded our expectations! I purchased the class as a gift for my wife for Christmas and needed to move the date from our original booking; Chef Parsati was able to accommodate and a a help arrange a fabulous environment that was a great first experience for anyone who is just learning to cook. The menu was provided ahead of time so we knew what the ingredients were and also got to bring along a bottle of wine to enjoy for the meal as well(I recommend Ubering or rideshare if you choose to bring wine or beer for your trip). Chef Parasari provided us with aprons and was a great instructor throughout the course of the cooking class; she helped walk us through how to prep and prepare the ingredients and answered all of my wife's questions about how to best cook each dish. All of the dishes that we prepared tasted amazing (if I had to pick a favorite, mine was the pizza we prepared that had a naan base that was the very delicious). The experience was definitely worth the price and I highly recommended this cooking class as a great date night or work outing . Chef Parasati also brought an awesome energy and creativity to the experience and helped introduce some new ingredients that expanded our tasting palettes and ideas for cooking in the future. I highly recommend booking Chef Parasati's class if you are a vegan; the dishes are carefully crafted to fill you up and provide great tasting delicacies at the same time. The class is also a great chance to have a new experience to meet chef's who share their knowledge and passion for cooking great food and are there to make sure you have a time as well!

Highly recommend Chef Parsati! She was easy to communicate with. We needed a vegetarian option for the menu and she was able to provide options ahead of time for us to consider and decide upon. I did the Ayurveda course from Chef Parsati as a Christmas gift for my mom and she loved it!!! The experience was amazing, all the meals we cooked were so delicious, and we learned so much about the ayurveda cooking from Chef Parsati. She answered all the questions we had, from technical to simple, and then some more. It was an all around awesome time learning to cook from Parsati. It was such a lovely, educational evening! Prior to arriving, Chef Parsati was very responsive in our communications. Our party of six was quickly greeted by Chef Parsati in her beautiful home. The house was inviting and she made us feel at ease. Our group of friends have never done anything like this and didn’t know what to expect, but the Chef was able to communicate clearly what we would be doing and laid out the game plan for the entire evening. She provided a small dish of eggrolls to start, but that was the only thing we would eat that night that we didn’t cook. She walked us through what to make, what seasonings to add, and provided all the necessary equipments (knives, bowls, utensils) to make this an enjoyable experience. Chef Parsati taught us small tips and tricks to cooking which was invaluable. She took an abundance of photos and she shared with us via google photos link. Overall, it was a fun time with lots of laughs in a cozy, intimate setting.

Our group of 8 had a really fun experience in Chef Parsati's Vegetarian Indian Comfort Food class. She prepped a few of the ingredients before our class but we all participated in cooking everything for our meal. The meal was delicious and festive. Not only is she incredibly experienced, but she also has a cool story as well! We made delicious salmon with vegetables, kale salad and almond fudge. I was shocked at how good it was (no kidding) and most importantly, it was all healthy. I cook my food quite bland so I learned how to properly use spices along with some other cooking tips like heating up the sauce pan first before putting olive oil on. Really great experience, and I recommend cooking with Chef Parsati if you want to expand out of the typical meals you cook, gain some culinary knowledge and have a fun time. 100% booking another session. It was all incredibly thoughtful. The experience could have been slightly improved if we were able to take the leftovers we cooked home. Otherwise the experience was wonderful!

My parents and I had a great time at Chef Parsati's class! The helpful tips she gave for everything from where to find good ingredients and utensils to how to get the most flavor out of herbs, her patience and good humor, and of course the brilliance of the food itself - all of this was flawless. The shahi aloo palak was particularly great; I've tried multiple dishes with paneer at restaurants and thought it was an inherently bland ingredient, but Chef Parsati taught us how to bring out its flavor, blend it with the flavors of the spices and spinach, and make an amazing dish! I'd recommend this class to anyone, regardless of experience in the kitchen.

Chef Parsati was extraordinary! Her multicultural cooking background really came through in our class, and she paced the class well such that everyone was able to be hands on without feeling rushed. She even taught us how to make Naanzza, a naan + pizza fusion dish of her own creation, in addition to the main 4-course meal because it was a celebratory bachelor's party. So generous! Chef Parsati gave us a warm welcome upon arrival, it felt like reuniting with an old friend. She was very hospitable and friendly. She was very concerned if she had missed any dietary restrictions and we felt very much at home. There were only 4 people which made the experience great because it made it more of an intimate setting. We had such a great experience with learning different techniques and getting some cultural education and the fact that you could even make the dish vegetarian was a plus. I would totally recommend this outing as a date or with friends, it was totally worth the price and to experience the process of cooking with a professional. Chef Parsati was great! During the lesson, she explained everything to me and my friend while demonstrating the cooking. She taught us the differences in spices and all the variations of cooking the chicken pasanda. She made the lesson valuable by going over these variations including the rice and what to do when you don't have a spice and the ratio of spices and herbs/ingredients and what substitutes. I would very much like to visit her again and take more lessons in the future.

She gave so many great tips and tricks, my gf and I learned a lot from this class and will be using our recipes a lot! The meal was amazing and I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a cooking class!

Chef Parsati created such a nice experience for my family in her clean and welcoming home. She was willing to teach to our various skill levels (including our 12 year old son) and adjusted the dishes to taste. We did this class as a "family event" with our 13 year-old son and 17 year old daughter and it was their first time trying Indian food. (My husband and I LOVE Indian food). The class was just us and another couple, which was the perfect size to do a lot ourselves while also having time to watch, listen, and absorb everything she was teaching us. My son and I signed up for the Vegan Indian Spread with Chef Parsati and it was a wonderful experience. As it turned out, we had Chef Parsati all to ourselves which made the experience even better. She warmly welcomed us into her lovely home and explained her vast experience to us which was very impressive. With both of us being fairly new to vegan cooking, she patiently took us through each step of the preparations explaining the variety of Indian spices used in most Indian dishes and how each flavor impacted the final flavor of the dish. If you are a first time Chef or an experienced one, look no further than Chef Parsati. Not only did me and my date learn all about Indian cuisine, but we had a wonderful time with her as well. She talks super fast, but is incredibly knowledgeable and understanding to new cooks. She is also incredibly patient and I never felt that she was rushing us. Quite the opposite, I actually felt that she was more happy to share her craft with us, and I really couldn't be happier with the experience. The cauliflower dish we made was the best vegetarian dish I ever tasted and the lentils we made were to die for. Chef, thank you so much for making this night possible and I hope to come again soon!

My daughter and I had a really nice time with Chef Parsati and her cooking expertise. The kitchen and dining area were spotless and comfortable. She was extremely communicative about all of the Indian ingredients and techniques, and all of the cooking was totally hands-on so we really learned how to make these dishes. It turned out that it was just the two of us so we got the full experience and her undivided attention, which was a bonus. The food was all delicious and having our home cooked Indian meal at the end was the reward!

We took the Healthy Seasonal Indian Cuisine class with Chef Parsati. She showed us how to cook 3 dishes and a dessert. We learned the techniques for the dishes, but also how we could adapt them to our own dietary needs, which was very helpful. We also learned more about the different Indian spices. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our time.

My girlfriend and I had a great time at Chef Parsati's vegan Indian class. All of the food we made was made from scratch with high quality fresh ingredients and real spices. Everything we made was delicious, although I was particularly happy with the tofu dish. That was probably the most flavorful way I have ever cooked tofu. Efficient cooking experience and delicious food

Outstanding evening. Parsati is the real deal! Professional, well organized, got everyone engaged and kept the whole evening very entertaining. And the meal we prepared was delish to boot! Have already told friends to check it out. We made the one of the recipes for dinner again tonight!!

This class was amazing and the food we made was delicious! The class was in a beautiful kitchen, and Chef Parsati was very careful about cleanliness and safety. We used organic whole fresh ingredients and Chef Parsati explained each step and ingredient to make sure we were learning as we went. She even offered tips about adapting these recipes for different kitchens and using them for meal prepping. She provided us the recipes after, and I’m excited to try these out again at home. Chef Parsati was the consummate professional. My husband has zero cooking ability but she was able to get him to cook 4 legit Indian dishes in 90 minutes, including a salad, rice, chicken dish, and tapioca dessert. She gave us tips and tricks for cooking in general, including how to use a mandolin and how to not cry when cutting onions. 90 minutes is quite fast to really absorb all the information, but she was kind enough to email us the PDF recipes so we can try again later. Thanks to Chef Parsati for giving us the confidence and skills to cook Indian food!

I had the fun privilege of cooking under Chef Parsati's instruction last Saturday. Chef Parsati was very clear in her instruction, and provided recipes as well as many tips and tricks to be successful. I am vegan, but my friend who attend is not and we both very much enjoyed the food. It was very comfortable to be in her home, and to learn from a professional. Chef Parsati was wonderful - a gracious host and wonderful instructor. We took her Hawaiian cooking class as a three generation family event with ages from 14-82. Chef was able to connect with all of us and especially our 14-year old chef in training. A great experience and we will be back. As to the food - all terrific including things I would never have thought of like veggie poke. And the huli huli chicken was amazing.

We attended Chef Parsati’s class to celebrate my wife’s birthday and loved it! We did a vegetarian Indian class and made delicious aloo gobi, pilau, dahl, and raita all from scratch. Chef Parasti brings a warm reception, a cute, clean kitchen and a full life of locally trained international expertise to her cooking classes. Her experience living all over Asia, Europe and the US brought a really interesting perspective and flexibility to her cooking class - I loved the way she made fusion cooking accessible for us. Most impressively, Chef Parasti did an excellent job accommodating my allergies. Considering I’m a Celiac with shellfish and dairy allergies, this is a serious accomplishment because I cannot handle cross contamination in my food. Definitely recommend her class. I know I’ll be bringing my friends back for more.

I highly recommend a cooking class with Chef Parsati! We did a class with her to celebrate a birthday and it was wonderful. My son gave me a cooking class with Chef Parsati for my 66th birthday, and had kept the event/destination a surprise to me -- the two of us comprised her whole class. The experience was relaxed, informative, fun, and culminated with our enjoying the products of our labor. (Chef Parsati graciously called herself our "sous chef", letting us do all the key steps beyond her orderly preparation setting out the ingredients, ready for slicing, chopping, etc.) She made us feel at home immediately, and was warm and friendly throughout. Her kitchen and dining area were scrupulously clean, and she observed COVID protocols out of an abundance of caution, e.g. remaining masked throughout though all of us were fully vaccinated. Her expertise with North Indian cuisine was obvious. She had useful tips, e.g. preferred cooking oils, how to sequence the ingredients, and how to time the cooking. She showed how to share several ingredients across dishes in the menu, yielding distinct tastes by virtue of different proportions and seasonings. Her explanations were clear and she patiently answered all our questions. She also was flexible in adapting all the recipes to avoid ingredients my son is allergic to, e.g. replacing lentils with tofu in the Dal. All the dishes were delicious, even the tofu, which I normally find unexciting. My favorite was the Kebabs (pictured), which appeared flame-grilled, though we actually fried them. We had ample time at the end to eat our fill and pack leftovers. I was delighted by the experience and enthusiastically recommend this class!

This class was so much fun! It was our first date night in a long time and was perfect. We felt completely safe with all of the covid precautions in place, learned to make amazing food, and enjoyed an excellent dinner with excellent company. Chef Parsati's "Explore Northern India" class was incredible! My three girlfriends and I enjoyed the class thoroughly while celebrating two of my girlfriends' birthdays. Chef shared her knowledge of the cuisine and cooking techniques - from the unique flavors & spices of Northern India to the order of ingredients and timing of the heat. The aromas of each dish were divine and eating all of the meals we cooked together was very satisfying and so delicious. Chef Parsati was friendly and welcoming and her kitchen was clean. I got to see the recipe being prepared close up and Chef was open to any and all questions. I chose this class as my wife likes salmon even though I don't eat fish. So how come I ate my whole serving? Because it was absolutely delicious. Tender, flaky and the unique spice seasoning was something i will use in other recipes. Their was also a kale salad that was really good. I don't typically use kale in salads but having see it slightly wilted using this method and with the sweet and tangy dressing, I will be rethinking. I feel confident that I now have the skills to cook this meal. Definitely recommend this type of class for beginners who want to gain some confidence in cooking certain dishes. Some hands on prep was involved but not a full station set up. A very enjoyable evening overall.

Chef Parsati led the class through cooking a number of dishes that were all very flavorful, healthy, colorful, and allowed for the children to be involved. Everything tasted very yummy, and it's amazing she was able to make so many delicious dishes during the two-hour window of the class. We enjoyed trying a curry, a rice dish, a chicken dish, and some wonderful sides/accompaniments. It is clear how much Parsati loves cooking and has a gift for creating delicious and healthy recipes. She is passionate about sharing that gift with adults and children alike and helping them learn to cook flavorful food in their own home kitchens.
