cream cheese

smoked salmon or lox
2 tblsp
chopped red onion or scallions
1 tsp
capers, optional

small cucumber, sliced thin
1/4 tsp
freshly grated black pepper, optional
1/2 tblsp
fresh dill, chopped, optional

Step 1

Slice the bagel and toast until golden brown.

Spread a generous layer of cream cheese or "schmear" the cream cheese over the warm bagel.

Layer the sliced cucumber and onion (or scallions).

Place the salmon on top and sprinkle on the capers. Spread any remaining cream cheese on the top half of the bagel.
