I don’t normally leave reviews but we were pretty disappointed by the experience. It seems like we must have had a substitute because the woman leading merely read from a recipe sheet, was severely disorganized, fell way (like 1 hr) behind (even so much that one group had to leave before we even started to actually cook our food at almost 2 hrs into the experience at 8:45), was very controlling even though she had 2 helpers that could have assisted. I think she either was not a trained cook herself or was used to doing this with 8 yo kids. For the price, and more importantly the time you want to spend with your partner, I’d recommend another activity.

Chef Ryan was great! My husband and I had so much fun learning about Filipino food and making such a delicious meal. Ryan was patient with us and made everything super comfortable and friendly. We ended up with a good amount of leftovers, too, so we got to have our dishes again the next night for dinner. I'd highly recommend this class to a couple looking for a fun and relaxing evening with yummy food!

Great experience!!! list meeting a long-time friend... and learning something at the same time. I will definitely cooking this meal for my family!! simple to make and fancy-looking - my kind of cooking!!
We only brought one bottle of wine, which we finished while cooking, so Barbara brought out her own bottle when we sat down to enjoy the food. Awesome host!!

Chef Barbara was amazing! Thank you for such a wonderful night. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I'd never taken a cooking class before. I got this as an anniversary gift for my boyfriend and it was WONDERFUL! Chef Barbara was thoughtful and patient and wonderfully prepared. We both had some dietary restrictions that she went above and beyond to accommodate and it was a joy spending a night cooking in her home! Definitely would recommend this to anyone!

I reserved 2 spots for my wife and I for my wife's birthday and we had so much fun! Ive done Cozy meal before and my last class had around 8 people in the class and it sometimes made it hard to participate, but Chef Barbary only allows for 4 people to attend making it much more personal and eventful.

The class was excellent. Both in terms of how clear and easy to follow the instructions were, value for money and how well the recipes turned out.
Yes, I know that in this age and times, you have plenty of resources to learn anything, especially cooking, but nothing beats the experience of doing it by yourself, handling the ingredients, mixing up things and creating an Instagram worthy, restaurant quality masterpiece.
Chef Shameem (I hope I am not mixing up her name) was excellent with her clear instructions and also kept a watchful eye on everyone to make sure the fine line between a great creation and also-ran is not crossed. Overall experience: Great!

Had a great time with Chef Jacob in his San Mateo home! He's friendly, personable and loves to teach... which he's very good at! He gives simple and clear instructions and can even talk to you about the scientific processes that's going on in the food to the history of an ingredient or dish.
We got our hands dirty and made delicious farfalle al pomodoro. Such a simple dish with few ingredients yet it tasted rich and satiating! The sauce was just the right balance of tangy and sweet and the pasta was wonderfully soft and delicious! I also got to try some of his pulled pork tacos which were hearty and satisfying! His take on Mexican wedding cakes were sweet, chewy and the addition of pumpkin seeds gave it a whole other texture and flavor!
Chef Jacob specializes in "comfort food" from all cultures and cuisines and I'm positive there's something in his kitchen that will satisfy your cravings. Highly recommended!

I had an AMAZING time with Chef Jirayu in her beautiful home! Her hospitality is bar none and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcomed, comfortable and special. She's clearly passionate about Thai cuisine and cares deeply about her ingredients, traditional methods and flavors.
If you're not one for spicy food (like myself), Chef Jirayu's dishes just might change your mind. I could not stop eating her Green Curry Eggplant, Bamboo, Chicken & Basil dish! Her Tom Yom Soup was so full of flavor, it was delicious and savory! The Spicy Mango Salad was sweet, spicy, refreshing and satisfying. And the Sticky Mango Rice... wow! I guarantee, you won't have tasted better Thai cuisine outside of Thailand!
I highly recommend an afternoon with Chef Jirayu! You will have a delightful time and learn how to make the BEST Thai dishes! Not to be missed!

This was our first cooking class, with Cozymeal & Chef Barbara. We loved it...
Chef Barbara was so much fun to be around.
She was prepared, organized & very knowledgeable. We learned more than a receipt, we learned valuable cooking basics as well.
For instance, we didn’t know that there were so many different ways to cut an onion, we didn’t know how to eyeball a tablespoon of olive oil on the bottom of a pan. This might seem like basic information for most people, but it was new information to us & Chef Barbara didn’t make us feel uncomfortable because I didn’t already know it.
Chef Barbara was very patient while showing us how to prepare all of the ingredients & allowing us to try it alongside her.

Barbara was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from the cooking lesson. Plus we were working side by side with her learning tips. She also was able to answer random questions that we had about spices, cooking pans and utensils plus we got a quick lesson on the different types of salts! Wow - where do I even start. This experience significantly exceeded my expectations. Barbara was fantastic. Before the event she was quick to respond to my several questions and was flexible with the date/time and size of the experience.
When my group arrived at her gorgeous home we were quickly welcomed into the kitchen were she had a ton prepped and appetizers waiting. Barbara's personality is amazing. She was so warm and welcoming that iit quickly felt like we had been long time friends.
The actual cooking was a great experience. She had prepped a good amount of the steps to where we just jumped right in and followed the several recipes. It was structured enough to make sure we actually got things accomplished, but we still had the freedom to do things our way. She was an excellent instructor that peppered us with tons of great tips in the kitchen - many of which I have already used.
After the meal was cooked Barbara brought us into her dinning room and left us to our meal while she cleaned the kitchen. She then surprised us with some espresso and homemade cookies that were amazing.
Overall it was an amazing event. I would recommend it to anyone, of any skill level.

well let me start by saying she was very nice.
we felt she was totally unorganized. it appeared she had never made this meal before. she was reading the recipe.
she had everyone doing different things it was impossible to follow along.
from the start there was issues with missing ingredients not being at the workstation.
we also never got the desert. she had forgotten. she offered us a scoop of ice cream.
I really wanted to make this special for my wife. it was my gift to her for Mother's Day
we have done a couple of cooking classes at other locations. this was by far the most disappointing.

this class wasnt what we expected… to start off, we had a resident chef, but we thought it would be chef andrea. it’s not too hands on as the resident chef would pick out one person to do a task while the rest of the group watched. we thought we would be in small pairs at our own stations actually making the meal. on top of that, the resident chef forgot one guy was cooking the steaks and didnt give him any directions as to when they should be done. so they were burnt and almost well done. overall, very disappointing experience.
