Booked the class Make an Elegant Layered Cake with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
This class exceeded my expectations. I now know why some of the techniques used have fallen below standards, it's because I hadn't been shown or taught the appropriate method. This hands-on course gave me exactly what I needed. I absolutely plan to attend another class with Cozymeal to continue to improve my cooking skills.
Booked the class Classic Dim Sum Specialties with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)

Booked the class Sea and Land - Date Night with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
We had fun. The food we made was good (Surf & Turf), and we enjoyed the other couple we shared a table with. What wasn't ideal was that I thought "At the Chef's Resident" meant their house, not a retail store. The store isn't great because everyone has to stand up to eat their dinner. Also, not being able to pair wine with a meal you spend 2 hours making is also disappointing. One last thing: the chef was brash with the guest and rude to her staff. The standing up and no wine probably wouldn't have been as big of a downer if the chef was fun and friendly. A year ago we did Kitchen on Fire in Berkley; I thought CrozyMeals was going to be like their experience. Fun Chef, sit-down dinner after 2 of work, and a great meal paired with wine.

Booked the class A Night in España with Chef Barbara in South Bay & Peninsula (Foster City)
I reserved 2 spots for my wife and I for my wife's birthday and we had so much fun! Ive done Cozy meal before and my last class had around 8 people in the class and it sometimes made it hard to participate, but Chef Barbary only allows for 4 people to attend making it much more personal and eventful.
Booked the class A Night in España with Chef Barbara in South Bay & Peninsula (Foster City)
Chef Barbara was great. Her home was beautiful and she was incredibly friendly, passionate about cooking and very engaging. The recipes we created were amazing. I can't wait to try them again. It was 100% pleasure.
Booked the class Mountaintop Grilling with Chef Evan in Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz)
Chef Evan's view alone is worth taking this class, and the incredible class on grilling and the meal make it a no-brainer. Chef Evan lives on the top of a mountain in a cool home built in the shape of three tents, with a wraparound porch giving a view onto the Santa Cruz Mountains. He gathers a ton of his ingredients from his own garden plot, and the rest of this food is locally sourced and absolutely amazing. Definitely a must try.

Booked the class Classic Dim Sum Specialties with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
Chef Andrea was an excellent instructor. I especially appreciated that after she would display how to pleat the siu mai and har gow skin, she came around each table to give assistance to those who needed help. Also, qwhen the har gow flour didn't work out, she was prepared for plan B. Her helpers also helped make the class run smooth. The class was fun!!!

Booked the class Thai Summer Flavors with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
Chef Andrea and her team were amazing! We had so much fun! I would suggest a smaller class or bigger tables. We were fortunate to have 2 at our table. The tabels who had 4 people, had 2 cutting boards, and shared ingredients. I would have been disappointed. Over all we had a great experience.
Booked the class Dreaming of Donuts with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)

Booked the class Italian-Style Chicken Dinner with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
We did not get the recipes. garn777@gmail.com nelsusan@gmail.com The class was good, the food was very good, but we would have preferred learning in a smaller group.
Booked the class A Night in España with Chef Barbara in South Bay & Peninsula (Foster City)
Chef Barbara is very personable and knowledgeable. She guided us through the cooking and helped us produce a great meal, all the while keeping up great conversation, and giving us lots of good cooking tips. She has a great kitchen and house, and is very welcoming. All-in-all, a great experience, and we'll definitely have to do it again.
Booked the class East Meets West with Chef Barbara in South Bay & Peninsula (Foster City)
Barbara was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from the cooking lesson. Plus we were working side by side with her learning tips. She also was able to answer random questions that we had about spices, cooking pans and utensils plus we got a quick lesson on the different types of salts! She is super friendly and we were so comfortable with her.

Wow - where do I even start. This experience significantly exceeded my expectations. Barbara was fantastic. Before the event she was quick to respond to my several questions and was flexible with the date/time and size of the experience. When my group arrived at her gorgeous home we were quickly welcomed into the kitchen were she had a ton prepped and appetizers waiting. Barbara's personality is amazing. She was so warm and welcoming that iit quickly felt like we had been long time friends. The actual cooking was a great experience. She had prepped a good amount of the steps to where we just jumped right in and followed the several recipes. It was structured enough to make sure we actually got things accomplished, but we still had the freedom to do things our way. She was an excellent instructor that peppered us with tons of great tips in the kitchen - many of which I have already used. After the meal was cooked Barbara brought us into her dinning room and left us to our meal while she cleaned the kitchen. She then surprised us with some espresso and homemade cookies that were amazing. Overall it was an amazing event. I would recommend it to anyone, of any skill level. Thanks Barbara!

Booked the class East Meets West with Chef Barbara in South Bay & Peninsula (Foster City)
I really enjoyed my experience with Chef Barbara. We spend a fantastic afternoon cooking, laughing, and talking about food! She is an amazing hostess and such a sweet and lovely person. Barbara definitely knows her way around the kitchen, I learned a few cool culinary tricks from her. Everything we made was exceptionally good! It's always great to learn from a person who's so passionate about teaching people how to cook simple and delicious food.
Booked the class Haute Couple's Cuisine - Date Night with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
I don’t normally leave reviews but we were pretty disappointed by the experience. It seems like we must have had a substitute because the woman leading merely read from a recipe sheet, was severely disorganized, fell way (like 1 hr) behind (even so much that one group had to leave before we even started to actually cook our food at almost 2 hrs into the experience at 8:45), was very controlling even though she had 2 helpers that could have assisted. I think she either was not a trained cook herself or was used to doing this with 8 yo kids. For the price, and more importantly the time you want to spend with your partner, I’d recommend another activity.
Booked the class Tuscan to Share - Date Night with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
TUSCAN TO SHARE - DATE NIGHT well let me start by saying she was very nice. we felt she was totally unorganized. it appeared she had never made this meal before. she was reading the recipe. she had everyone doing different things it was impossible to follow along. from the start there was issues with missing ingredients not being at the workstation. we also never got the desert. she had forgotten. she offered us a scoop of ice cream. I really wanted to make this special for my wife. it was my gift to her for Mother's Day we have done a couple of cooking classes at other locations. this was by far the most disappointing.
Booked the class Elegant Ramen Feast with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
Ramen. My friend and I had a fun evening and liked the Ramen recipe, but the class felt very chaotic and stressful. I have been to MANY cooking classes and this one was the most chaotic and unorganized one I’ve attended. I felt sorry for chef Andrea. She was nice. She was flustered, seemed stressed and not familiar with the recipe, didn’t know how to work the instant pot so had to pivot the recipe which I think affected the outcome. Her assistants were not helpful at all. Pam (assistant) was a real “downer”, slow, morose, unhelpful to the chef, wore a dirty looking Fanny pack the entire class and had stray hairs all over her black sweater while around our food. Chef Andrea had to ask her to do everything. She was never proactive. She also never smiled even once (Pam) and seriously brought the whole vibe down. The young male assistant was slightly more helpful but still not friendly or professional. I was actually quite shocked that they wouldn’t have a more professional cooking class. Maybe because I’ve been to so many cooking classes I have a higher expectation, but for the price I expected more. I left feeling tense, but also enjoyed it too….which kind of contradicts, I know. I think it was mostly enjoyable because of who I was with, and we were paired with. That’s what made it enjoyable.
Booked the class Craft Beginner Dumplings with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
Had it been posted the class was in Palo Alto I never would have signed up for it. I’ve taken many classes there in the past year and it hasn’t been a good experience. I was very disappointed this was not stated up front.
Booked the class Italian Classics - Family Fun with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
Not a good cooking class. Venue was tight. Chef was pushy and rushed. We skipped making ice cream
Booked the class Paris in Winter - Date Night with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
this class wasnt what we expected… to start off, we had a resident chef, but we thought it would be chef andrea. it’s not too hands on as the resident chef would pick out one person to do a task while the rest of the group watched. we thought we would be in small pairs at our own stations actually making the meal. on top of that, the resident chef forgot one guy was cooking the steaks and didnt give him any directions as to when they should be done. so they were burnt and almost well done. overall, very disappointing experience.
Booked the class Timeless Culinary Tools and Techniques with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
A sub chef at last minute. No teaching necessarily but just follow the process. Not good. Kitchen was overcrowded with people without stove. We were paired with strangers and not enough things for people to work on. We didn’t even end up having a piece of ribs for ourselves at all! Very much below expectations.
Booked the class Seasonal Summer Specialties with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
I would say that the description of the event were not clear. It did not mention that we would be divided into teams and wouldn’t get to do all the steps ourselves to learn better. The experience could have been better. Most of the steps were done by the chef and the rest had to be divided among 4-5 people. I have attended cooking classes before, and we get to do all steps ourselves which helps grasp and learn better. Other than that, chef Andrea was sweet. She answered everyone’s questions and was also open to teaching knife skills to some that were new.
Booked the class French Bakery Favorites with Chef Andrea in South Bay & Peninsula (Palo Alto)
As other reviews have said, it's chaotic with a full class of 16. The instructions were unclear sometimes; it seemed like the chef was doing the recipes for the first time and reading from the printout. We still haven't received the recipes - apparently if you register through Cozymeal, the recipes are either delayed (so far) or never sent (if we don't get them soon). I asked the chef, and she said that if you register through Cozymeal, it takes another day or two, but we still haven't seen 'em.
