Sake salmon, also known as shio salmon, is a delicious and very simple recipe. This grilled and salted salmon is easy to make and very fast.

Step 1

Cut the salmon in half, producing two filets.

Sprinkle the sea salt on both the skin and flesh sides of the salmon.

In a bowl, add the sake and the salmon. Transfer the bowl into the refrigerator. Marinate the salmon for 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to broil. Take the salmon out of the refrigerator and drain the sake. Pat the salmon dry with a cheesecloth or a paper towel.

On a broiler-safe baking pan, spread the olive oil evenly. Place the salmon on the baking pan with the skin side facing up.

OMG - I've never been able to figure out why the salmon I get at my neighborhood Japanese place tasted so different from when I made it at home! Who knew it was such an easy dish to make? ....salmon is coming up tonight, folks!
