extra-firm tofu
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
1 tblsp
cornstarch
salt and pepper, to taste

Measure and prep all ingredients.

Press the tofu. Pat the block of tofu dry and wrap with paper towels or a kitchen towel and place on a plate.

Top the tofu with another plate and set a heavy object on top. Leave tofu for 15-20 minutes to drain. While the tofu is draining, preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

Remove the weight, plate and wrapping from the tofu. Cube the tofu into 1-inch cubes. Transfer the tofu into a large bowl

In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, cornstarch, salt and pepper.

Sprinkle the cornstarch mixture over the tofu and stir to coat.

Place the tofu on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them so that they are not touching each other.

Bake tofu for 15 minutes. Flip the tofu and bake for another 15 minutes.

This is a great recipe! I love that it doesn't use flour to crisp up the tofu, which makes it a perfect choice if you're trying to avoid gluten!
