This all-purpose steak dry rub packs a punch without covering up the flavor of the meat. It has a balance of spices, herbs and just a pinch of brown sugar to make any steak into something special.

garlic powder
1 tblsp
onion powder
1 tsp
dried oregano
1 tsp
ground bay leaf
1 tsp
ground rosemary
1 tsp
ground cumin
1 tsp
ground coriander
1 tsp
paprika
1 tsp
light brown sugar
1 tsp
ground black pepper

Measure and prep all ingredients.

Mix all of the ingredients together until well combined.

Apply liberally to your steak just before cooking or you can pre-season an hour ahead of time for a better crust.

Notes:

  • Scale the recipe up and package it in a pretty jar to gift to others.
  • You can omit the sugar if you are eating sugar-free without any substitution.
  • Be sure to use Diamond Crystal kosher salt. Different kosher salt brands have varied crystal sizes and may affect the salinity of the recipe.

This rub made the steak juicy and gave it a perfect crust. Delicious.
