Published on August 4, 2025 | 0 Comments
There is a Poppi flavor for all tastes

If the dozens of Poppi flavors on the supermarket shelf didn’t clue you in, word on the street is we’re making soda healthy now. But, unlike many similar ‘better-for-you’ sodas, Poppi flavors tend to hit the mark. Not every soda appears on Shark Tank, after all, so you have to assume that this probiotic drink has something going for it.

But which are the best Poppi flavors? While most are pretty satisfying, there’s a definite hierarchy when Poppi flavors are ranked from least to most enjoyable. Keep these 15 Poppi flavors in mind next time you’re thinking about a refreshing can of probiotic pop. So, what is the best Poppi flavor? Keep reading to find out.

The 15 Best Poppi Soda Flavors Ranked

15. Root Beer

Although Poppi’s imitation of classic root beer has its good points, this recipe is unfortunately also full of holes. It may excel at creating a rich, herbal taste where most brands would just pile on the corn syrup, but a litany of complaints about the strength of the flavor, the aftertaste, and the lack of spice have many fans picking another Poppi flavor.

Even this spotty attempt at making a healthy drink version of the classic root beer isn’t terrible, though. You’ll likely find something you enjoy about it despite its reputation; just know that it probably won’t taste quite the way you expect.

14. Classic Cola

Another entry in the “shaky imitation of a popular soda flavor” category, Classic Cola does some things right and some things wrong. Fans of Coke or Pepsi will be glad to know that the right flavors are all there in this Poppi flavor. But at the end of the day, this is a soda made for people who know the difference when it comes to prebiotic vs. probiotic vitamin supplements, not major Coca-Cola fans.

Of course, a Poppi flavor aiming to imitate cola is going to lose some of that in-your-face flavor that you only get with a list of ingredients you can’t pronounce. So while Classic Cola is certainly a worthy substitute for fans who need to lay off the real thing, it remains in the shadow of its more established peers.

13. Watermelon

Feelings about this Poppi flavor are mixed. While it’s a fairly unusual soda flavor and thus captures a corner of the market that is often overlooked, the taste is also a little stronger than many fans would like. As a result, Watermelon Poppi has developed a bit of a polarizing reputation.

Watermelon has such a mild flavor in its natural form that it’s a little surprising, but this Poppi flavor is just a little too sour and punchy to climb the ranks. It’s not so off-putting that some don’t still enjoy it, but many feel that the burst of borderline artificial watermelon-candy flavor is just too much.

12. Wild Berry

If you’re committed to wholesome ingredients and health-conscious recipes, you can’t exactly make a proper blue raspberry soda. That’s why this Poppi flavor isn’t called Blue Raspberry: while the inspiration is undeniably there, it’s a soda that takes its flavor notes from real fruits. This might be a plus for some, but others could find it disappointing.

Rather than the tingly, syrupy appeal of blue raspberry, Wild Berry offers a refreshing but subtler berry flavor. It’s almost more like a carbonated juice. So if you go looking for something explosively flavorful, you may come up a little disappointed. Those who can appreciate the subtlety of this Poppi flavor, though, will likely rank it among their favorites.

11. Doc Pop

Another take on a classic soda: we’ll let you guess what soda this Poppi flavor is trying to imitate. And every time a Poppi flavor goes for a well-known soda, it raises the question: will it taste like the real thing? In this case, the answer is a halfhearted “pretty much.”

While the slight cherry and vanilla notes of a Dr Pepper are all here, the jury is out on whether it actually succeeds in recreating the feel of the original soda. Like so many other Poppi flavors, there are nuanced notes of flavor in cola-based sodas that aren’t really on display here, much as it would be nice if there were truly a healthy Dr Pepper alternative out there. This is not by any means a bad soda, but it doesn’t quite measure up.

10. Grape

The Achilles heel of so many grape sodas is their over-liberal use of sweeteners. Grapes are already sweet, so dumping half a ton of corn syrup into the formula doesn’t do the soda any favors!

If you like the idea of grape soda but have never liked the reality of it for that reason, you’ll be glad to know that this Poppi flavor has something the original rarely does: restraint.

Of course, that means that this Poppi flavor is fruitier and more tart than the original, and markedly less sweet. Subtlety might not be what you’re looking for in a grape soda. But those who dread the medicinal taste of too-sweet grape sodas will likely love it.

9. Lemon Lime

Whether your go-to is Sprite, 7-Up or Sierra Mist, lemon-lime is a soda we all know well. What is surprising about the Poppi flavor that imitates it, then, is the fact that it’s actually sweeter than you’d expect. You don’t see that in most Poppi flavors, which makes it all the more intriguing.

Rather than a tart, refreshing citrusy soda, this Poppi flavor tastes like carbonated lemonade. If you like a sweeter citrus flavor, this will be cause for celebration. But it’s not quite as acidic and refreshing as some competitors, so keep that in mind to temper your expectations.

8. Orange

From here on out, our featured Poppi flavors shift from “tasty but imperfect” to “dang, that’s good.” We start with Orange, a Poppi flavor that is likely ranked higher on many people's personal list of favorite Poppi soda flavors. It may be just above the halfway point on this list, but somebody had to be.

Poppi flavors usually lean into the natural tartness of whatever they’re imitating, and Orange is a great example of that. Rather than the syrupy sweetness of Orange Fanta, Poppi Orange takes its cues from the real fruit: yes, it’s sweet, but that pleasant tart edge is always there.

7. Cherry Cola

The rare soda that exceeds traditional cola, this Poppi flavor shines the way so many others do, because Poppi does fruit-flavored sodas really well. It’s also a much better Cherry Cola experience than anything you’d get from a mainstream brand.

While Poppi Classic Cola pales in comparison to better versions that came before it, we would argue that no one has ever really done cherry cola to its full potential. It’s always the second-fiddle flavor, okay if you’re into that, but not really anybody’s favorite. While it’s not perfect, this Poppi flavor is a worthy attempt to change that and is worth a shot.

6. Orange Cream

A revelation. Even if you think you don’t like orange soda, this Poppi flavor is handled with a light, deft touch that calls to mind an Orange Creamsicle without being too over the top.

Many Poppi sodas succeed because they take the core elements of a flavor we loved as kids and tone them down for adult palates, and this is a prime example of that. With its creamy vanilla notes and juicy, mild orange base, Orange Cream is a full-bodied soda with a ton to offer.

And sure, the Orange Poppi flavor is great — but we’d recommend picking up this can if you have the choice. It adds a whole new layer of dimension to an already-great flavor, and we’re here for it.

5. Punch Pop

If Hawaiian Punch were a soda and contained about half the sweetener, you might get something like this limited-edition summer 2025 Poppi flavor. Which is to say: if you grew up drinking the vaguely tropical fruit punch people like to put out at pool parties, you’ll love this grown-up take.

Like all Poppi flavors, Punch Pop leans into more natural and subtle flavors than competing drink brands. This means that Punch Pop is truly fruity, a bright summery drink that easily trounces its competition.

4. Raspberry Rose

One surefire way to know that you’re dealing with a sophisticated soda company: they start putting flowers in their soda. We kid, but Raspberry Rose really does represent much of what makes Poppi such a unique and successful soda brand.

There’s no Poppi flavor lighter or easier to drink than this zippy berry-and-floral concoction. The raspberry is bright and tart, the rose floral and balancing, and everything about this soda screams “ideal girl’s night bev.”

Traditional soda fans used to sugar-heavy colas and orange sodas might not enjoy this, but if you’re not ordinarily a soda person, allow Raspberry Rose to change your mind about what a can of soda can be.

3. Ginger Lime

If we’re ever going to be on a boat, we’re going to pack a few cans of this Poppi flavor and pretend it’ll soothe our seasick stomachs. If a traditional ginger ale can do it, we’re convinced that this ginger-packed Poppi flavor can do it, too.

With strong, clear ginger flavor and a lovely citrus edge from the lime, Ginger Lime is a great example of a Poppi flavor that delivers exactly what it promises to. Nothing is too mild or falls behind what you’d expect of a flavor called Ginger Lime, and we really do think this one could be a lifesaver if your stomach isn’t feeling so hot.

2. Cherry Limeade

Are we remotely surprised by now that this citrusy cherry soda is one of the best Poppi flavors there is? We’ve firmly established that Poppi makes an amazing fruity soda when it’s allowed to innovate instead of sticking to established flavors, and the sweet-tart summer taste of ripe cherries is the perfect pairing for a zippy infusion of lime.

It’s refreshing, sure, but it’s also a lot of fun, and that’s ultimately the essence of the best soda flavors. Even if you think you can’t stand cherry, we’d encourage you to sample this Poppi flavor: if any cherry soda will change your mind, it will be Poppi's Cherry Limeade!

1. Strawberry Lemon

If you’ve ever had sparkling strawberry lemonade before, you already know what to expect from this Poppi flavor. And you should know exactly why it ranks first on this list.

There are few things more enjoyable than a glass of lemonade on a hot day, and this one supports your gut biome — how could we award our top spot to anything else? As far as we’re concerned, this is the Poppi flavor.

How Many Poppi Flavors Are There?

Currently, you’ll find 17 Poppi flavors in stores. Of those, 15 are represented here; the two Poppi flavors that didn’t make the cut are Cream Soda and Alpine Blast, neither of which tends to be a fan favorite.

The list of Poppi flavors available to buy also expands as seasonal flavors are introduced. For example, the current Punch Pop flavor is available for the summer, and a Cranberry Fizz flavor is occasionally introduced in the winter months as a holiday special.

Although you won’t see Poppi putting out novelty flavors every other month like some larger brands, keep your eyes peeled for seasonal additions to the lineup.

What Is the Best Poppi Flavor?

While this is entirely subjective and will depend significantly on your personal preferences, fans frequently cite Cherry Limeade and Strawberry Lemon as two of Poppi’s best flavors. Both of them make solid go-to flavors for a first-time Poppi drinker if you’re looking for a good place to start.

It’s worth noting that these two Poppi flavors have something very noticeable in common: both are combinations of a tart citrus and a sweeter berry-like flavor.

Clearly, it’s a combination that works! Both of them are beloved for their nuanced flavors, never becoming too tart or too sweet, and have an adult feel that you might not expect in a can of soda.

No list of Poppi flavors ranked can ever really settle the question of which is most delicious, but after this, you should have an idea of which are worth picking up if you’re curious about this probiotic soda brand.

In a market full of newfangled healthy sodas, Poppi’s impressive product stands out — and so do its creative, well-executed flavors. If you must throw your hat in a probiotic soda ring, make it this one.
