Review of Cooking Class at Chef Jaime’s Home We had the great pleasure of attending a cooking class in Chef Jaime's clean, cozy, and welcoming apartment, which featured a large kitchen and a beautiful center island with granite countertops—perfect for group cooking. We prepared vegan empanadas, guacamole, and a delicious veggies stew, sauces, etc. all under Chef Jaime's expert guidance and supervision. Chef Jaime’s enthusiasm and energy truly set the tone for a fantastic experience. She was incredibly organized, managing the class smoothly and keeping us on track without ever making it feel rushed. What really stood out was her ability to engage with participants of all experience levels, from beginners to more seasoned cooks, making sure everyone felt included and valued. Her positive, supportive attitude created an environment that was not only instructive but also fun and encouraging. It was clear that she’s passionate about her craft and genuinely cares about ensuring her students have a memorable experience. We cooked a vegan and GF Mediterranean meal, with falafel and tzatziki, roasted vegetables with quinoa and Lemon Olive Oil cake. It was SUCH a great and fun class. I personally learned better knife skills, lots of cooking tips and tricks to make cooking easier and faster, and had a wonderful meal that I look forward to and feel confident of creating on my own. My daughter and I attended the class together and there was a young couple in the class too and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Chef Jamie's teaching space/home was lovely - perfect for our class and she made the entire experience interesting, resourceful, TONS of fun and inspiring! I look forward to taking another class! My only regret was I forgot to take pictures!!

My sister, cousins, and I had such a great time at this cooking experience. Chef Jamie was not only super chill and funny but also made everything feel approachable and fun. The food turned out incredible, especially the pisto with bread and the sweet potato and bean filling for the empanadas, honestly, I’d eat that filling on its own. We came in thinking we might leave a little hungry, but we were so full by the end basically fighting to keep eating. The kitchen space was perfect for a group, with plenty of room for everyone to get hands-on. We all were able to chop, stir, pour, season, and Chef was super open to all our questions. We learned a lot about reducing food waste, proper knife techniques, and storing produce, plus got to hear about Chef’s path to becoming a private chef. Also, random but worth mentioning, the whole place had a super peaceful vibe (shoes off at the door), and the bathroom? Gorgeous. Skylight and all. Highly recommend this experience!

From the moment we walked in, Chef Jamie made us feel completely at ease—her warm presence was so comforting, especially since we’re a little on the shy and introverted side. Jamie is incredibly knowledgeable, and her goal is truly to empower her students—she gave us invaluable advice, from how to properly hold a knife to small tricks that make cooking smarter and less intimidating. I’m already seeing the aftereffects; today, as I made sheet pan vegetables, I found myself thinking back to her class. I highly recommend this experience—it felt so personal, and I walked away with skills I’ll carry with me every time I cook!
