Imperial Pint vs. U.S. Pint

Imperial measurements are slightly different from U.S. measurements when it comes to volumes of liquids. A standard imperial pint equals 20 fluid ounces. This is 4 ounces more than the standard U.S. pint, which contains 16 ounces, so it’s important to not confuse or interchange the two.

Dry Pint vs. Liquid Pint

There is a slight difference between liquid pints and dry pints thanks to their differing cup sizes and measuring tools designed for each. A dry measuring cup is about .16 cups larger than a liquid one. However, with both substances, there are still two cups in a pint, so the dry pint ends up being slightly larger in volume than a liquid one.
