The 10 Best Frozen Pizzas at Costco
1. Motor City Pizza Co. Double Pepperoni Pizza
Offering you not one, but two chances to double down on your favorite pepperoni pie, this Detroit-style Costco frozen pizza by Motor City comes in boxes of two. Priced at around $9.99, it’s something of a steal.
It’s one of the best frozen pizzas at Costco for almost all shoppers; as perfect for families or couples in need of an easy feed as it is for singles who want a quick and tasty meal on hand at all times.
Motor City is the name behind one of Costco’s most famous pizzas, in large part thanks to this particular pie. It’s easy to see why. We were super impressed when this one came out of the oven, looking more akin to a lasagna than a regular Costco frozen pizza.
We especially loved looking at the two types of pepperoni (rounds and small chunks), mostly because we knew how much we were going to enjoy eating them. A cauldron of cheese bubbles from edge to edge, and don’t worry. It’s not too greasy, although it is filling.
2. Sabatasso's Pizzeria Gluten-Free Thin and Crispy Crust Pizza
One of the best Costco frozen pizzas for gluten-free and vegetarian diners, this pie from Sabatasso’s Pizzeria comes topped with no fewer than four cheeses.
It comes in packs of two — ideal if you’re looking for an easy dinner food idea for you and your favorite foodie. Just bear in mind that each two-pack is priced at $21.99, which begs the question of whether or not this Costco frozen pizza is worth it.
You might be thinking, “Two pizzas for that price is pretty good bang for my buck.” It’s true. Especially since each is topped with four cheeses. However, in our experience, we found that the crust of this Costco frozen pizza was somewhat lacking in flavor.
It also failed to brown quite as quickly as the cheese, resulting in a look that was slightly overdone. In fact, it wasn’t, but at first glance, you might find yourself rueing those 22 bucks when you retrieve these pies from the oven.
In terms of texture, the gluten-free base is rather chewy. This might not bother you if you’re accustomed to gluten-free pizzas. In that case, you’ll be delighted by the medley of melty cheese that earns this Costco frozen pizza a place on this list.
If you’re not, and your diet isn’t restricted by gluten, this may not be the best Costco frozen pizza for curbing your cheesy cravings.
3. Kirkland Signature Pepperoni Thin Crust Pizza
If value for money is the deciding factor when it comes to picking frozen pizza at Costco, Kirkland is the brand to look out for. Its Signature Pepperoni Thin Crust comes in boxes of four, available at a price of just $19.99. That’s an easy win for famished families when the working week gets in the way of cooking.
Anybody who’s eaten anything from the Costco food court menu will have come to expect value for money at this popular grocery chain. Fortunately, this frozen pizza from Costco lives up to those expectations.
What’s more, we thought it looked great right out of the oven, with a crisp crust and even distribution of toppings. We also took no small satisfaction from the bubbling carpet of cheese.
So, how did it taste?
The pepperoni and cheese delivered pretty much what we expected, and as we mentioned, the crust was nice and crispy. But it was greasy. Had we not eaten it quickly, it could easily have soaked through to the bottom of the crust.
4. Kirkland Signature Frozen Cheese Pizza
Being the house brand, it’s not surprising that Kirkland has another offering on this list of the best Costco frozen pizza. Like the pepperoni version, this one is also a great choice for those looking to stretch their dollars as far as possible.
In this case, the Signature Frozen Cheese Pizza comes in boxes of four, currently for just $17.79. That’s pretty cheap. What’s more, it lists “100% real cheese” on the box, which is reassuring.
In terms of how it tastes, the cheese, despite being fresh from the oven, was almost waxy. What’s more, the crust was pretty soft, which we actually enjoyed. But if your preference is a “thin and crispy” Costco frozen pizza, just know that there’s a reason those words aren’t included on the box.
5. Kirkland Signature Deluxe Cauliflower Crust Pizza
Available in boxes of two for $19.99, this Costco frozen pizza is one of the best frozen dinners for gluten-free diners in search of a pleasing pie. Especially since it blends an array of all-time favorite toppings, including pepperoni, sausage, roasted vegetables and no fewer than three cheeses!
Of course, any Costco frozen pizza is only ever worth it if the taste lives up to the description on the box. In this case, we found that it definitely does.
We’d go as far as saying that it’s one of the best Costco frozen foods. Why? Firstly, the crust browned nicely around the edges and those three cheeses bubbled beautifully straight out of the oven.
What’s more, the toppings were not only colorful but also packed with flavor. Just bear in mind that since this is a gluten-free Costco frozen pizza, the crust doesn’t have the same snap as regular pies.
6. Italpizza Margherita Pizza
How does three wood-fired Margherita pizzas for under $25 sound? We certainly thought it was worth a try. Especially since this Costco frozen pizza is labelled as a product of Italy, we had high hopes that we were in for a true taste of the birthplace of the world’s favorite dough-based dish.
Topped with basil, baby mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto in well-balanced quantities, this Costco frozen pizza looks great fresh from the oven. What’s more, the crust is pre-cooked in a wood-fired oven in Italy.
The result is a decadent bite with every slice, and while some suggest the crust is “solid but not amazing,” that’s really down to personal preference. We loved how it crisped around the edges, providing a satisfying snap at the end of each slice.
7. Milton's Cauliflower Crust Pizza, Roasted Vegetable
This Costco frozen pizza is another bargain buy for gluten-free and vegetarian shoppers, especially those hoping to snag one of the chain’s healthiest frozen pizzas. Each box contains two pizzas, which for just $16.25, is pretty good value.
What we really loved about this particular pie is that, where other gluten-free crusts struggle to achieve that satisfying snap of their wheat-wielding cousins, this one delivered. Spectacularly.
For topping lovers out there, don’t worry. As Costco frozen pizzas go, this has some of the best vegetarian ingredients to go with that snappy crust. Think zucchini, an assortment of peppers and onions.
Sure, we’d say that Milton’s could arguably have been more generous with the toppings, but that’s not to say they’re scarce, and they taste very fresh. Throw in a bubbly cheese centre that contrasts beautifully with the crispy crust, and you’ll struggle to find a better gluten-free Costco frozen pizza.
8. Bellatoria Pizza, Ultra Thin Crust, Sausage Italia
This dish from the Costco frozen pizza brand, Bellatoria Pizza, is perfect for busting those carnivorous late-night cravings. Especially if you prefer a thin crust.
In this case, the “ultra-thin crust” as described on the box comes out crisp and snappy, complementing the gooey cheese beautifully. The spice in the sausage is also absolutely delicious.
But is this our favorite Costco frozen pizza? If we had to pick a favorite, it would probably be one with more toppings. But that’s just our opinion. Other reviews can’t sing this Costco frozen pizza’s praises enough. In other words, you’ll need to make up your own mind!
9. Sabatasso's Thin Crust Pizza Singles
This range of Costco frozen pizzas comes in two flavors and in boxes of 12, all for just $25. Now, as you’d expect from the name, these aren’t shareable pizzas (unless you cook a few of them at a time). Instead, each provides a serving of pizza perfection, ideal if you’re looking for lunch food ideas that satisfy without overfilling yourself.
They come in two flavors — pepperoni and four-cheese. We’ll start with the pepperoni, which has plenty of pepperoni and cheese, both of which crisp nicely in the oven. So, too, does the crust. Just note that while you can cook these Costco frozen pizzas in the microwave, you won’t get that same all-around crispness if you do.
The four-cheese version comes out of the oven with the same browned appeal as its pepperoni sister. The crust is thin, but with some chew, and the cheese even came out with a bit of a crisp, which we loved. It’s also lighter on the sauce than other Costco frozen pizzas, allowing the cheese to do the talking. We loved that, too.
10. Hot Pockets
While these don’t strictly fall under the banner of “Costco frozen pizzas,” the pizza-style filling is enough for us to include Hot Pockets on this list. So, for those who’ve never tried them before, what are they?
Hot Pockets are essentially pizza sandwiches. And while they’re hardly some of the healthiest frozen meals at Costco, they are delicious. They come in two flavors — pepperoni and hickory ham and cheddar — and are packed to bursting with the fillings listed on the box. Both have a crisp, buttery crust, however, our favorite is the pepperoni, since its crust is also laced with garlic.
As one of the best Costco snacks for those who like bang for their buck, Hot Pockets come in packs of 20. They can be baked in the oven, air fryer or microwave, but we’ve found that the microwave fails to make the most of those crispy crusts. Still, it’s nice to know you have the option.
So there you have it! Whether you need a gluten-free crust, crave a pile of pepperoni or an authentic taste of Italian cooking, the range of Costco frozen pizzas has something for every palate.
What’s more, most come in multipacks, offering astonishing value for money. That means that whether you need to feed your family in a pinch or simply can’t face cooking on those woeful Wednesday evenings, you can stock your freezer with your favorite Costco frozen pizzas without breaking the bank.
