Costco is known for its high-quality products at low prices, and the Costco food court menu is no different. Costco may not be the largest department store chain in the U.S., but it is officially the most popular, according to a recent YouGov survey

Additionally, according to The Globe and Mail, while much of this popularity stems from its unbeatable prices on bulk essentials, another major draw is its beloved food court.

With a menu featuring fresh pizza, hearty sandwiches and the famous $1.50 hot dog combo, the Costco food court menu offers customers an affordable and satisfying meal option during their shopping trips. But which items must you order and which may you want to pass on?

How We Ranked the Costco Food Court Menu Items

Costco’s food court menu is well-known for its generous portions, unbeatable value and comfort-food appeal. But with new choices joining longtime favorites, ranking the best Costco food court menu items can be challenging.

However, we’ve set out to do just that. But how?

The team at Cozymeal has spent years curating culinary experiences across the globe and creating in-depth guides on a range of food-based topics. This experience allows us to constantly be on the pulse of all the happenings in the food world, including what products and food court items customers are loving at Costco.

To create this specific guide ranking the best Costco food court menu items, we combined firsthand tastings with research, customer feedback and recent menu updates to evaluate what you must try during your next trip to the bulk retailer and what you may consider passing on.

We also used a consistent set of criteria to determine which items truly stand out. Notably, the Costco food court items that rank highest:

  • Offer great flavor and texture in every bite.
  • Provide good value for money based on portion size, quality and how unique the item is for the price.
  • Are highly popular with customers, often having long-standing fan bases or cult followings.

The 12 Best Costco Food Court Menu Items Ranked

12. Soda

Although it has gained the last place on our ranking of Costco food court items, a refillable 20-ounce soda is by no means a bad item. It just isn't very interesting (despite being great value).

This budget-friendly classic on the Costco food court menu is the perfect accompaniment to any food item and is part of the beloved hot dog and soda combo.

And, fans of Coca-Cola products will be pleased to learn that Costco switched back to the brand (having previously served Pepsi soda) in 2025. Along with regular Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero, shoppers can get Sprite, Raspberry Faze Iced Tea or Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade.

Costco Soda Overview

  • Price: $0.79
  • Size: 20 ounce with free refill.
  • Flavors: Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade, Sprite and Raspberry Fuze Iced Tea.
  • Diet suitability: Regular and diet/zero sugar sodas are available.
  • Pro Tip: Don’t forget to fill up before you leave with your free refill.

11. Ice Cream Cup

Sometimes, simple is best, especially when it comes to popular desserts. Similar to soda, the ice cream cup ranks relatively low on our list of the best Costco food court items due to the fact that it's not very creative.

Yet, it delivers exactly what you'd want: creamy soft serve in delicious vanilla or decadent chocolate. While it’s a dependable classic, it lacks the toppings or creativity of other Costco dessert options like the Ice Cream Sundae.

Want to give this Costco food court menu item a boost? Some people recommend pouring some matcha or coffee (espresso if possible) over it to create an affogato-style dessert. You could even pair it with soda for an ice cream float.

Costco Ice Cream Cup Overview

  • Price: $1.99
  • Size: 10-ounce cup
  • Flavors: Vanilla or Chocolate
  • Diet suitability: Vegetarian and gluten-free; contains dairy.
  • Pro Tip: Get it right after your hot food; cold soft serve is the perfect contrast and a sweet way to round out your Costco food court meal.

10. Turkey and Swiss Sandwich

We recommend this newer addition to the Costco food court menu for fans of deli-style sandwiches. Similar to the Chicken and Bacon Sandwich (coming up next in the rankings), this version swaps out roasted chicken for cold deli turkey and smoky bacon jam for a rich sun-dried tomato spread.

The reason we rank it a little lower is that we found it slightly less satisfying than the Chicken and Bacon Sandwich. The turkey is moist and the ciabatta is soft, but it can get soggy if you don't eat it quickly. Still, it’s a reasonable choice among Costco food court items if you’re looking for something light yet filling after a busy afternoon of bulk shopping!

Costco Turkey and Swiss Sandwich Overview

  • Price: $6.99
  • Ingredients: Sliced turkey, Swiss, sun-dried tomato spread, mayonnaise-mustard blend and lettuce.
  • Diet suitability: Contains gluten, meat and dairy.
  • Pro Tip: Best eaten right away, as waiting too long makes the lettuce wilt and the bread may get a little soggy.

9. Chicken and Bacon Sandwich

The Chicken and Bacon Sandwich is another newer Costco food court item. It features roasted chicken breast paired with cheddar cheese, smoky bacon jam and a creamy mayonnaise and mustard blend, all nestled in a soft, hearty roll.

This creation from the Costco food court menu is served cold and it can be a bit polarizing, with many feeling it would be much better as a toasted sandwich. Some also find that the heaping serving of bacon jam makes it too rich.

Although we think the bacon jam and cheddar work well together, especially if you're looking for a filling meal, this doesn't outdo Costco food court menu classics like pizza or hot dogs.

Costco Chicken and Bacon Sandwich Overview

  • Price: $6.99
  • Ingredients: Oven-roasted chicken, cheddar, bacon jam and mayonnaise-mustard blend.
  • Diet suitability: Contains gluten, meat and dairy.
  • Pro Tip: If possible, ask for it to be warmed slightly before eating to soften the roll and enhance the flavors.

8. Ice Cream Sundae

Treat yourself to a classic favorite on the Costco snack bar menu by ordering an ice cream sundae. You’ll savor a generous scoop of creamy vanilla soft serve ice cream, adorned with your choice of luscious strawberry or decadent chocolate sauce.

It might not be at the top of our ranking, but it’s still a beloved treat that stands out on the Costco food court menu, mainly because it’s more of a complement than a headliner. While it doesn’t draw the same crowd as the savory staples, it’s the perfect finish to a Costco food court meal, and much more satisfying than the plain ice cream cup.

Costco Ice Cream Sundae Overview

  • Price: $2.49
  • Size: 10-ounce vanilla soft serve
  • Toppings: Chocolate or Strawberry
  • Diet suitability: Vegetarian and gluten-free; contains dairy.
  • Pro Tip: Ask for both toppings if you want to level it up: some locations will say yes!

7. Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad

Looking for something a little healthier? If so, this salad is one of our go‑to lighter picks on the Costco food court menu. Along with being healthier than many other items on the menu, the Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad is a favorite from the Costco food court menu because it offers a refreshing blend of flavors and textures.

With this order, you’ll get succulent rotisserie chicken atop a bed of crisp romaine lettuce, complemented by the richness of Parmesan cheese and a creamy Caesar dressing. It's a wholesome option that strikes the perfect balance between indulgent and healthy eating. Plus, eating a healthier main means you can enjoy that sundae or cookie for dessert almost guilt-free!

Costco Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad Overview

  • Price: $6.99
  • Ingredients: Romaine lettuce, rotisserie chicken, Caesar dressing, Parmesan cheese.
  • Diet suitability: Contains dairy, gluten (due to the croutons) and meat.
  • Pro Tip: If you're sensitive to gluten (but are okay with potential cross-contamination), ask for it without croutons. It’s still super satisfying.

6. Cold Brew Mocha Freeze

Thirsty for something other than soda? Then treat yourself to a refreshing pick-me-up from the Costco food court menu with the Cold Brew Mocha Freeze.

At a fraction of the price of similar drinks from popular coffee chains, this Costco food court menu item offers both quality and affordability. Its smooth, well-balanced taste makes it a satisfying alternative for those looking to enjoy a café-style treat without the premium price tag, and it acts as the perfect pick-me-up before or after shopping.

Costco Cold Brew Mocha Freeze Overview

  • Price: $2.99
  • Size: 16 ounce
  • Diet suitability: Contains dairy; gluten-free.
  • Pro Tip: Stir or swirl often, as chocolate tends to settle at the bottom.

5. Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

A refreshing newcomer to the Costco food court menu has earned a just-above-middle spot on our list. This icy beverage delivers a tangy blend of lemonade and real strawberry pieces, creating a tart, fruity flavor that’s both bold and refreshing.

This frozen drink has become one of our favorites as it offers a cool escape on hot days and makes for a great alternative to heavier desserts or sodas. Its natural fruit flavor makes it a standout seasonal item that has already earned a loyal following.

However, some say it's too sweet, while others mention it being too tart. Therefore, where you'll rank this Costco food court menu item really depends on personal preference. But, for only $2.99, trying it for yourself won't break the bank.

Costco Frozen Strawberry Lemonade Overview

  • Price: $2.99
  • Size: 16 ounce
  • Diet suitability: Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free.
  • Pro Tip: Let it melt just a bit before sipping. The flavor gets even better as the ice softens.

4. Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie

This is one of our favorites at the Costco food court for when you have a sweet craving. The Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie is crafted with a medley of bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate chunks, offering a mouthful of ooey-gooey bliss in every bite.

With so much chocolately goodness, this Costco food court menu item will quickly become your favorite treat. Plus, it's a super affordable Costco snack at under $3.

  • Price: $2.49
  • Size: ~5 to 6 inches
  • Diet suitability: Vegetarian; contains dairy and gluten.
  • Pro Tip: Pair it with the vanilla ice cream cup for your own DIY cookie sundae. Or get an extra cookie and make a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich.

The pizza at Costco is a cult classic and only one Costco food court menu item can outrank it on our guide. With the option to get a slice or a whole pie, this is one of our go‑to treats when we need to feed a crowd or are just craving big flavor on a budget.

Whether you want classic cheese or zesty pepperoni, the Costco pizza menu allows you to savor a generous slice for just $1.99.

First in the ranking is our favorite value meal, which has had the same price since 1985! A timeless classic, the Hot Dog and Drink Combo remains a cornerstone of Costco's food court menu.

This famous combo gets you an all-beef hot dog served with a 20-ounce drink. We recommend this option for when you're in a rush or just craving something comforting. This item continues to be a fan favorite on the Costco hot food menu for its unbeatable value and taste.
