I was born in the Middle East where I grew up. My parents are Arab descendants born in Zanzibar, a small island in East Africa. I grew up with various Arabian, African & Indian tastes, all mixed in one delicious pot. Spices such as cardamom, known as "The Queen of Spice", saffron & coconut were featured in almost all dishes I had. I am hoping this triangle of spices can bridge the gap between East and West, presenting delightful flavors that cultivate, inspire and tickle your taste buds.

Awatif's stuffed dates were out of this world! The smokey, spicy tomato sauce complemented them perfectly. I've never had anything like them! Her vitumboah with saffron and cardamom syrup were like little pillows of happiness. I am already planning to book a meal with several of my friends so they can experience Awatif's brilliantly flavored dishes as well (and so I can happily devour them again). If you're looking to have an amazing meal with a chef who has traveled the world and is an incredible host, then look no further!
