The star of this menu is the eggplant and tomato stew served with saffron rice in which the eggplant transforms into a silky-textured wonder. You'll also enjoy traditional Persian favorites, including a refreshing pea soup and the ever-popular Shirazi salad spiced with fragrant mint.

I love going out for Persian food, but never would have known where to start if I tried to make it at home. Chef Faramarz has such a breadth of knowledge about the ingredients needed and the various classic dishes in Persian cuisine--I learned so much in the few hours I spent with him! His food is amazing, too--I loved the bread he made and even took some home to have with honey and butter the next day, as he recommended. I also couldn't believe how flavorful the vegan eggplant dish was! I'll for sure be creating some of the dishes again at home.
