Learn authentic Caribbean cooking from a Barbados native and Culinary Ambassador.
During this live and interactive online cooking class, Chef Natasha will take you on a culinary journey to the islands where you will learn how to make two standout Caribbean dishes: Jerk chicken skewers and a vibrant tropical spicy Alfredo sauce known as "Rasta pasta." Also, if you want to try to make your own jerk seasoning marinade from scratch, Chef Natasha will share her signature recipe.

I did the 'Chicken kebobs and Rasta pasta' experience with Chef Natasha. I enjoy cooking (when I have time), so initially I didn't understand why this experience would be better than just following a recipe a home. The difference is that I can learn new ideas for flavor combinations from the chef and from other participants , as well as be guided thru the cooking experience with recommendations on how to improve my technique. Chef Natasha was fun, kind and patient, and she kept in touch with our progress during the event. She answered everyone's questions and was knowledgeable in her field. The food turned out beautiful and delicious, and I look forward to doing another 'cozymeal' either on my own or with a group of friends .

She answered various questions and offered positive guidance when we missed something, how to pair wine to the dish, and alternate ways to make gnocchi (with squash, sweet potato, cauliflower, etc.). This class was both educational and fun. We enjoyed Natasha's spin on a margarita which helped kick off the class in style. The tortillas and tacos were fantastic and I can;t wait to make these again. While these might seem like simple recipes, it's a little bit of a challenge to knock it all out unless you have an assistant. For that I'd recommend this for a couple. Her two camera approach made following along easy and keeping up was not an issue. We are planning to take another class soon. (Pro Tip: get the big bottle of tequila cause you're gonna want more margaritas :) )

Naan bread turned out great and definitely easier than I thought it would be. The curry dish tasted good but I was hoping for better. Definitely have all of your ingredients prepped, measured and ready to go before the start of the class as she moves quickly through each of the preparation steps. Natasha was a pleasure to cook with and was able to answer all of our groups questions. It’s nice to have someone teach you how to make the meal in front of you so you can see what the food should look like at each stage of the cooking process.

I loved hearing about Chef Natasha's background, and she threw in some trivia on the spices we were using, and other historical facts that made the class interesting. This also helped with building bonds among the participants!

Overall a good first experience. I would advise future participants on a couple of points: Prep and measure all ingredients beforehand so that you don't need to scramble around during class. Be prepared to melt your butter. Have cornstarch handy in case you need to thicken the curry. Make the curry in a medium cook pot or dutch oven rather than a saute pan or frying pan. Be prepared to mix the yogurt and milk together. Have a whisk, spatula, and stirring spoon handy. You only need to pre-heat your oven if you want to keep the Naan bread warm. Oh, and if you have a gas stove with an exhaust fan make sure your computer speaker is loud enough that you'll be able to hear the chef's guidance over the noise of the fan. Other than that you should be all set!

I thought Chef Natasha was a wonderful teacher. She was calm, giving clear directions and repeating ingredients or steps often. It was quite a diverse class, with skill levels ranging from beginner to pro! She handled it all beautifully. More importantly, the food was sooo tasty. I've only made naan twice in my life. The first was a disaster but this time, with her direction, it came out perfectly. I may just have to cook it a LOT. The chicken and spices blended together perfectly. I enjoyed every bite of my meal, hopefully with more members of my family joining in -- that was such a special part of the class to see mothers and daughters from all over everywhere cooking together virtually. The pandemic has led to a lot of changes in society and the way in which we can do things togethe -- but cooking with Chefs like Natasha and folks from around the world -- all virtually -- is a positive, uplifting experience in these stressful times. The class was very fun and the recipes turned out great. We did most of the prep work before the class started, so we could watch more instead of chopping?. Not necessary, because Natasha walks you through everything and makes sure everyone is in sync. We had approx 10 people in the class and she handled everyone’s questions. I would definitely recommend this session.

The love of cooking with her grandmother and the Caribbean culture have been the inspiration for chef Natasha. Her experience as a business owner, entrepreneur and as a teacher at the culinary school of the Art Institute in Tampa have made her an excellent chef and teacher. She makes her classes easy to learn. I enjoyed her fusion of Caribbean and Indian cuisine. Her Fried Plantains with Bajan aioli were creamy and tasty, a mixture of sweet and salty. The Garam Masala Curry Chicken with Kale and Coconut Rice were also very tasty. The combination of ingredients and spices blended together very nicely.
