My husband and I had a fantastic experience in Chef Ian's cooking class. As a couple with different skill levels (I'm a newbie, he's more experienced), it was perfect for both of us. Chef Ian was incredibly knowledgeable, had everything prepped and ready, and ensured we were both hands-on. We learned a lot while making delicious stuffed mushrooms, moussaka, and panna cotta. The atmosphere was warm and fun—we shared great laughs and felt completely comfortable in his home. Highly recommend!

I recently took a cooking class with Chef Iain, and it was such a fun experience! Chef Iain was super welcoming and made everyone feel at ease right from the start. He’s not only skilled but also really passionate about cooking, which made the class enjoyable and engaging. We cooked up some fantastic dishes: moussaka, filled mushrooms, and panna cotta. Chef Iain walked us through each recipe with clear instructions and shared plenty of kitchen wisdom along the way. Even those of us who weren’t too confident in our cooking skills found it easy to keep up and have fun with it. The moussaka was rich and flavorful, definitely a highlight! The mushrooms were a hit too, stuffed with the tastiest filling. And the panna cotta? It was the cherry on top of a great evening—smooth, creamy, and just sweet enough. Chef Iain took the time to connect with everyone, answering our questions and making sure we all had a great time. The class felt like cooking with friends and learning from a pro at the same time. Chef Iain was incredible. He was professional, knowledgeable, funny, and an excellent teacher. There was not a doubt in our minds that he knew what he was talking about, and he was constantly teaching us little tips and tricks, as well as offering alternatives in preparation of the recipes we made. As a first wedding anniversary gift, I booked Chef Iain to teach us to make Mediterranean Comfort Food. To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect. As an introvert, going into such a private setting like this felt extremely intimidating. However, previous reviews about Chef Iain being warm and inviting convinced me that he's the perfect pick. Chef Iain is wonderful, informative, and experienced. He welcomed us into his home and made us comfortable right away. Recipes are easy to find but the insights he shared with us about technique, ingredient use and quality, and substitute options are truly valuable. It made us feel more confident in experimenting beyond the recipe. We genuinely enjoyed the experience and Chef Iain's company. We really enjoyed Chef Iain’s class. This was easily one of our favorites! The menu selection was fantastic, especially the tapas-style variety. I was thrilled that we got to make homemade flatbread—it was such a pleasant surprise and definitely a highlight. The food variety was excellent, and the smaller, more intimate class size made the experience even more enjoyable. It felt personal and engaging without being overwhelming. The only thing that kept it from being a perfect 10 was the room temperature. It was quite warm, and with the ovens on and no noticeable AC or fan, it got a little uncomfortable at times. That said, everything else was wonderful, and we’d absolutely take another class with Chef Iain.

My 12-year old daughter and I had a great father-daughter date. Chef Ian was thorough, conscientious, and kind. He expressed awareness of my daughter's sensitivity to spice. I appreciated how he seamlessly tailored his instructions to a beginner level (my daughter), an intermediate level (myself), and an advanced level (the other couple who attended the same class). He taught simple techniques like how to slice an onion, peel garlic, and grate a zucchini, and more advanced tips like the chemistry of dough and the use of an egg as a binder. We really enjoyed our time, and we hope to do something like this again!

Back in late July, for his birthday, my partner and I took a Spanish tapas class with Chef Iain. We loved it. Iain has a great way about him—a dry sense of humor meets excellent and patient instruction meets rather delicious outcomes. Not only did we learn how to make some tasty tapas (for which we also got the recipes and have practiced a time or two), we also came away with some great tips on how to use a few kitchen tools, most notably a couple of must-have kitchen knives of which I knew nothing, as well as reiterating the value of mis en place (having all your ingredients measured, cut, peeled, sliced, grated, etc. before you start) —which I already knew from my own novice experience makes a big difference in outcomes when things are where they need to be—when they need to be there. Iain is very knowledgeable, a great conversationalist, and a talented chef with decades of experience. I found his class to be a great experience for the money. I expect that I'll sign up again in the future. (Not leaving a tip here since I did so in person.)

I booked a class with Chef Iain for a departmental team building event and it was Awesome. The chef invited us into his home and was prepared to lead us through a fun and educational journey. The stations we prepared before our arrival, but we did all the work. It was fun to learn the science and chemistry involved in cooking. The food was delicious and sitting down with your immediate coworkers was nostalgic of pre-pandemic lunches. We had soo much food, great conversations, and fun outside of the office. I recommend this for a friends group, coworkers, and even as date night.

Chef Iain was an excellent instructor! He gave us wonderful tips such as proper knife techniques, spraying the spatula with non-stick cooking spray and squeezing out the liquid from the grated zucchini. He adapted the menu to make it lacto-ovo vegetarian and all the tapas were all scrumptious! He even sent us home with leftovers. Chef Iain was welcoming, patient, humorous, and kind. Also, everything in the kitchen was immaculately clean and organized. The food was delicious and there was more than enough of it - were even sent home with the yummy leftovers! I would definitely participate in his other menus. Such a great time.

Chef Iain was truly wonderful and the dishes we created were delightful. Initially, I was hesitant about the stuffed chicken dish since I'm not a fan of cordon bleu, but Chef Iain's version was a game-changer. It was lighter, perfectly cooked, and definitely something I will be cooking again. The class wasn't just about the delicious soup, chicken, and crepes; the real highlight was learning from Chef Iain. Chef Iain's mastery in cooking and depth of culinary knowledge were apparent throughout the class, and he was happy to educate throughout. His extensive repertoire of proper cooking techniques will significantly improve my cooking skills. He taught us details which can enhance any dish. For example, he explained how different ingredients affect seasoning levels – like using less salt when adding ham and cheese to the chicken (my dish) as opposed to a veggie-focused chicken that needed more salt (my classmate’s). What impressed me the most was Chef Iain's ability to cater to varying skill levels. As a beginner cook, I found the class immensely informative and engaging. My classmate, who is intermediate/advanced, also learned a lot. Both of us are eager to take more classes with Chef Iain, and I recommend you do the same.

This was such an incredibly enjoyable experience. The entire meal was delicious- better than I could have hoped. And Chef Ian was fantastic- super organized and on top of everything. In addition to demonstrating each step, he gave each of us individual attention, providing a lot of very useful, universally applicable guidance- like the the most efficient way to chop an onion, or how to hold and move the knife when doing various cuts. He’s also just a very cool guy- funny, but focused- no wasted time during this action-packed class. I purchased a class, with Chef Iain, for my wife's birthday. We took our 12 year old daughter and had a great time. Chef Lain explained the proper way to cut, peel, and mix, the order of food preparation and adding ingredients, how to tell when the pan is the proper temperature, and how to tell exactly when the food is cooked. We picked up so many tips that we can use in our everyday meals. Even our 12 year old got into the action flipping crepes. This class exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely book with Chef Iain again.

This was a wonderful culinary experience, led by the humble and humorous Chef Iain, who made the entirety of the cooking experience easy and exciting. I took my girlfriend for her 30th birthday, and she had a blast. We learned how to cook a delicious ginger and carrot soup, savory stuffed chicken, and sweet crepes. One of my favorite parts was when chef Iain showed my girlfriend and I how to flip the crepes in the pan. It was just like you see people flip things in cooking shows. This was a great alternative to a typical night out for dinner together. I would highly recommend for couples to try! We were grateful to be taught some great new kitchen skills while getting to create a beautiful 3 course dinner to enjoy as well. Chef Iain was very personable and a really good teacher. I always make dry chicken, but the was the first time my chicken was succulent. Thank you Chef Iain.

We had a great time with Chef Iain! He brought everything we needed to our kitchen and helped us make a stellar tapas dinner! We even had plenty of leftovers for the next day. He did a great job helping us feel more comfortable with eyeballing ingredients and practicing cooking with the ingredients you have to make a delicious meal. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful evening at Chef Iain’s house. We were a group of girlfriends getting together for the first time since... the whole pandemic nightmare started. So, we were probably too chatty and all over the place from the excitement of the meeting, haha!, but surprisingly, days after the event we kept sending each other pictures of the dishes that we cooked with Chef Iain and that we all repeated at home! So, turns out, not only we paid attention, but the dishes were so good that we wanted to replicate them for our loved ones at home! Chef’s personality is larger than life! He is not only full of pro tips and useful hacks, but also has a great sense of humor and made us laugh all evening. I am so happy we found this website and their great classes at a time when it seemed like life came to a complete standstill. Thank you, Chef Iain, for giving us such a great experience and making us all feel “normal” again! Highly recommend for a tight group of 6-8 friends. Make it “private“ and enjoy Chef Iain’s undivided attention!

Chef Iain was a delight. We were 5 woman celebrating a birthday. We had the 5 course tapas meal. Everything was delicious and recipes we can definitely make at home. You can participate as much or as little as you want in the prep and cooking. Iain gave us several cooking tips that we will use again. We all want to do it again. Thanks for a fantastic evening.

Chef has great cooking skills. Loved all that he made. Was pleased with his explanations. I was picking up my friend and was half an hr late and would have been fine with him not doing a whole dish, but he didn’t give that option and kind of looked shocked when he greeted us at the door…. Not sure why. I took 2 stars off for 2 reasons 1. Came across as racist making remarks like “ you didn’t clean the floors and windows “ which did not come across as in good humor(my friend was Mexican). The only time he smiled was when we were leaving . Hospitality was 0 . 2. Washing hands should be done and asked of by the chef. His nails were extra long which made it look less hygienic. Otherwise Chef seems like a great cook. This review is not to deter anyone from him. I mean it as a constructive criticism, so hopefully its taken in the same sentiment.
