Cooking Class - Intro to Asian Ingredients

Join Chef Jess as she demystifies Asian ingredients and flavors in this hands-on culinary experience.

In this hands-on class, Chef Jess will provide an introduction to a variety of Asian ingredients and flavor combinations that will help you incorporate new and exciting flavors into your cooking.

Chef Jess will use her three-course vegetarian and vegan menu to show you how just a few simple Asian ingredients and sauces have the ability to add a big explosion of flavor and complexity to your meals. A few ingredients and flavors you'll be working with include ginger, red curry paste, soy sauce, miso, sesame oil and lime.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

"Healthy" food gets a bad reputation for being flavorless and boring but Chef Jess turns the table on that notion and teaches you how to make flavorful, tasty food that's also good for you! Her Reimagined Pad Thai is complex, fresh and tasty. I loves me my meats and noodles but you won't miss those at all in this dish! The Kale, Chickpea and Sun-dried Tomato Salad is both hearty and flavorful; and I could eat the Cowboy Caviar Dip with a side of chips all day! Finally, the Spiced Chocolate Almond Butter cake was super chocolaty, moist and dense; with hints of sweet potato and cayenne pepper. Delish! The best part is that they're all super simple to make! Chef Jess' apartment is a beautifully decorated space that's welcoming, warm and comfortable-- much like Chef Jess herself! Very personable, super friendly and a joy to be around. It's hard to come up with a better way to spend an afternoon!

I had such an amazing time joining Jess' cooking class with my colleagues! The apartment where the class took place was so cozy and well-decorated that created a warm and welcome atmosphere. The recipes were simple, easy to make and so yummy (+ vegetarian & healthy :)). Jess was great in managing all the people while preparing the food, providing instructions and cooking tips but also being discreet and letting us catch up, talk with each other and have fun. Of course, in the end, we enjoyed the delicious food with some lovely wine. I totally recommend this experience for private events with friends and colleagues!

Jess did a cooking class for my friend and I over the summer and it was amazing! I literally make the meal we made together every two weeks or so - I am so happy I went! Jess is also super engaging and great at accommodating all ability levels. She is thoughtful in the menus she puts together. Highly highly recommend!!
