Cooking Class - 5-Day Foodie Fun Teens: Adventurous Cooking

What You’ll Do

Introduction to cooking for young chefs.

Teens will love this introduction to basic cooking in this summer cooking series designed for kids 12 and up. Your young chefs will learn new skills in the kitchen such as knife skills, sauteeing sauces and chopping fresh vegetables under the direction of a five-star professional chef. They will master new techniques while cooking through a robust menu of cultural dishes from around the globe. At the end of class, participants will receive a certificate of completion as well as memories to last a lifetime.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

After pursuing culinary school and retiring from teaching, Chef Karen became a chef instructor in 2019. Promoted to Culinary Lead in 2020, she continued to excel, recently stepping into the role of Resident Chef. Working as a Chef Instructor has rekindled her passion for food and sharing culinary knowledge with every guest she meets.

Chef Lee was great and I learned a lot. But two days later I still don’t have the recipes. It would have been helpful to have them at the class so we could take notes.

My friend and I had a great time learning how to make delicious French cuisine! We ended up collaborating with another couple, which actually added to the fun. The chef also sends you a copy of the recipe afterward—perfect for continuing to practice and build on the new skills I learned!
