In this hands-on class with Chef Jilah, you will learn how to prepare an array of Southern recipes, all the way from buttermilk biscuits with homemade preserves to chocolate pudding with homemade whipped cream, with local, seasonal ingredients and modern twists.
Some of the classic Southern techniques yielding modern results that you can look forward to learning while preparing this modern Southern menu include the how and why of marinating a whole chicken in buttermilk before roasting it, as well as how to properly cook fresh vegetables to crave-worthy perfection.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
