Chef Ashok is a breath of fresh air in the stagnant world of east Indian cuisine in St Louis. His fusion dishes combine the scrumptious color and fragrances of the far East with the culinary magic of European bistros and the robust flavors of deep Americana. His dishes are playfully imagined and imaginatively played to surprise even the most astute palates. I always look forward to the unveiling of his new nuggets of tasty goodness. He is consummate in his pursuit of creating new experiences for his guests. The only way it's better is to see his wonderful smile light up every time he explains the construction of his masterpieces big or small. That shows his commitment to serve his food like a work of art which I think will revolutionize the world of fusion food once he achieves a stage worthy of his immense talent. Chef Ashok created an exquisite fusion meal for us based on all of our individual favorite cuisines. Mixing echoes of childhood delights with cordon bleu touches, the experience was a blast. This is what he excels at, the unique one of a kind experiential meal that makes a sweet memory. The photos don’t do justice to the flavors and the taste! A lot of chefs can prepare a good meal but when someone cooks with passion and an eye for detail, it really reflects in the meal and that is what the Food Raconteur experience is all about.
