Private Chef - Chef's Special

Enjoy a light yet decadent menu featuring a few of Chef Gustavo's favorite recipes.

Chef Gustavo presents three of his favorite dishes in this gourmet private chef experience. Begin with a quinoa salad studded with bell peppers, tomatoes, manchego cheese, walnuts and cilantro, then sink your fork into your fish entomatado entrée with tomato sauce, potatoes, red bell peppers, white wine and lemon juice. Finish with classic flan, an egg custard flavored with orange essence and topped with cream caramel.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to accompany the menu, and may request pairing recommendations from the chef upon booking.

It was an amazing experience and we both learned a lot- not just cooking techniques, but history of how the dishes became, which was even more powerful. Latin American cuisine is what Chef Gustavo is all about. As the owner and executive chef of Rumba Café in Adams Morgan for 20 years, he understands this cuisine more than anything else. He draws his inspiration from his own travels through Latin America, the Caribbean, France, Spain and more. He studied at L’ Academie de Cuisine and is knowledgeable in French cuisine as well. He is available to teach classes in both English and Spanish.
