Booked the class Pizza in the Oven with Chef Mordechai

Chef Motti was amazing - he arrived with everything needed to jump right into the class. We asked for more focus on making the pizzas vs the other recipes, so he brought those delicious dishes already made. The toppings he brought were top-tier - two different tomato sauces he made from fresh tomatoes, homemade bechamel, three cheeses, fresh herbs, sausage, vegetables, etc. We dove in to hands-on sessions where he taught us about making two kinds of dough and forming the pizzas. Then we all learned how to get them in and out of the oven (we used our wood-burning Ooni and the electric one he brought). My husband had been having challenges in our Ooni with the dough sticking to the peel when putting them in the oven and topping falling off when he removed them, and Chef gave him tips on preventing that and recommendations for better tools (I had bought an Ooni brand perforated peel and it didn't get enough of the flour off the bottom). We made sooo many pizzas, so we got a lot of practice, and had leftovers to feed some hungry neighbors later on. It was a fun and relaxing afternoon spent chatting, cooking and eating - our teen boys even enjoyed it. We look forward to finding another excuse to cook with Chef Motti!

Chef Mordechai is amazing. My pizza making cooking class with Chef Mordechai was the best cooking class I ever had. The class is fun and very hands on. Chef brought a lot of extra materials for everyone to have plenty to practice and nailed the techniques and everything tasted amazing. Chef also agree to show us how to use my own wood burning pizza oven and share lots of tips. I will definitely recommend this class to everyone!

We had such an awesome class with Chef Moti! He came to our apartment and was so organized with the recipes and needed equipment that we didn't have. The Mediterranean food we made through his guidance SO delicious, truly some of the best med food I've had (and big portions, enough for leftovers :)). He was very accommodating with dietary restrictions, collaborating with me to come up with a menu that worked for our group. He created a fun atmosphere that my family all enjoyed, we shared laughs and stories of life. He taught us cooking techniques that I'm excited to take into our everyday cooking. It was a wonderful experience! ? I did a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. He loves cooking. Thought that it would be a group lesson, but then was surprised that kitchen is at chefs home and a class is private ? The process of cooking was fun and nice. John explained everything very clear. So we cooked paella and a dessert (which name I forgot). Really loved paella cooking and tasting. But the dessert wasn’t my style.

We had a great time celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday with John! His place was very cozy and clean- he was very welcoming and shared tons of funny stories with us. We took the paella class, John was an amazing teacher, and allowed us to be as hands on as we wanted. He showed us his garden which was bountiful with beautiful flowers, herbs and fresh fruits. We loved the experience so much, it was our first cooking class ever and it was definitely one of the best dates (and most unique) we had! Kudos to John and thank you John again for your hospitality!! Highly highly 100% recommend!

I had a wonderful time with Chef Valerie in her gorgeous kitchen last Saturday with my family as we were shown the proper methods to make and cook pasta, sauces and a fabulous fruit galette. We all found her very informative and she has a lovely, calm nature. It is clear she has a passion for cooking and good food. I look forward to trying out her recipes in my own kitchen! My sister and I organized the event for our mother's 80th birthday gift. She was absolutely thrilled to have a unique opportunity to cook with 4 of her 6 grandchildren (who are all young adults and learning to cook for themselves now). Chef Valerie was a wonderful host, who welcomed us into her home to teach the pasta making course. I was hoping that it would be a little more hands on but I totally understand given the space of the kitchen. She methodically went through all the steps and didn't hesitate to answer any questions we had about what she was doing. She gave us the recipes afterwards which we were excited about, and we had a wonderful time meeting new people while we ate the food we made. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend Chef Valerie and her class especially for couples! It was also nice that this pasta class was vegetarian friendly.

I thoroughly enjoyed Chef John’s “Native Foods of The Americas” class. John has a wide breadth of knowledge about ingredients from both North and South America. He went in depth on how they were used in the past as well as how we were going to apply them to the recipes he invented. My girlfriend and I cooked the dish again last night and it turned out great. Definitely walked away from this class with a better understanding of how to tackle this style of cooking.

It was great experience working with chef Motti to learn how to make pizzas. Chef Motti is well- prepared for the class. He brought many different ingredients for us to make a variety of pizza. He also demonstrated how to use his portable oven to make pizzas within 2 min. I was very impressed by the way he made pizzas, super fast and delicious. Not only demonstrate how to make pizzas and other dishes, he also gave us background of pizzas, such as the origins of pizza flour, the key elements of a good oven for pizza, how to make your own starter for dough, the difference between feast dough and the sour dough. He gave us many opportunities to get hands-on experience to make pizzas on our own. I would certainly recommend chef Motti for his pizza class. It would be a delightful way to learn some good skills.

We had an absolutely amazing class with Chef Motti! I got this experience as a birthday gift for my husband and he said it was the coolest birthday gift! Chef Motti brought over such fresh ingredients and we had an incredible time making pizzas with him. He taught us so much in terms of making the dough, techniques for stretching it, how to properly place the pizzas in the oven, etc. Chef Motti was so kind and patient in answering any and all questions we had, and he was such a delight to spend time with. And to top it all off, the pizzas (and all the other food) were SO tasty!!! Some of the best pizza I've ever had. And we had plenty for leftovers! (He was also so efficient and thorough with all the clean-up after the cooking.) I would HIGHLY recommend this class, or any other experiences, with Chef Motti.

Truly a 10/10 class. Chef Mordechai is the best! This was such a fun experience filled with great food, wonderful company, and valuable learnings. We had a very enjoyable evening and delicious paella dinner. Chef John was a very good teacher and kept 6 people busy for the entire prep time. The flan dessert was terrific. The salad and homemade dressing was superb. The paella was excellent, prepared with various spices, chicken stock and stock made from the shrimp and mussels shells. The paella also had andouille sausage. The shrimp were very large and sweet, the mussels also very fresh and tasty. Perhaps the only small surprise was that in Spain the paella would have more seafood variety, such as clams, squid and octopus.

Chef Valerie was an amazing and warm person to spend an afternoon with! Her knowledge of Argentinean cuisine, history and heritage is inspiring. She clearly loves what she does, cares about her ingredients and it all shows in her food! Two of my favorite dishes that Chef Valerie demonstrated were her Argentinean corn and cheese empanadas and her Goat cheese & caramelized onions pizza! I think her empandas might be some of the BEST tasting empanadas I've ever had! The corn and cheese Argentinean empanadas was and amazing balance of sweet and savory, all with a delicious, flaky crust and perfectly moist filling! I could eat 20 of those! The goat cheese pizza with caramelized onions and olives were also a unique balance of flavors-- sweet and salty! Chef Valerie mentioned that this pizza was her Mom's favorite and I can easily see why! The crust was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Just simply divine! Seriously, just go for the empanadas! They're to die for!

We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking experience with Chef John and another couple. He started us out with a beautiful tray of appetizers. I got to make the flan which is something I have always wanted to make but a little afraid of trying to make it. It came out wonderful. We then started on the ingredients going into our paella and we all had assigned tasks. We sat down together and had the paella which was one of the best paellas we've ever eaten. We also had a great salad that the other couple worked on. We had a nice conversation and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. I would highly recommend Chef John.
