Booked the class Thai Dinner and a Show with Chef Lawrence in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge)
This was such an amazing and intimate experience. Chef Lawrence was extremely hospitable. The wife and I are celebrating our anniversary and we chose to spend a portion of the time cooking, singing, and dining to bring in another year of love and gratitude. Good food and good company brings about a wonderful experience with Chef Lawrence, the composer.

Chef Lawrence's extensive background in cooking and the performing arts makes him an incredible teacher and entertainer. He can whip up a delicious fresh pasta with the simplest alfredo sauce that will blow guests away. From Italian to Thai, Chef Lawrence makes traveling the culinary world accessible in your own kitchen. He might even sing you your favorite Broadway hit while you simmer a curry!

Super fun and informative. We took "The Cheeses of Northern France" class and I, a non-cheese gourmand, got a good grasp on the process and styles of several cheeses and most importantly, learned about some new cheeses that I really like and will continue to buy. We ate, drank and sang and made some new friends along the way. Lawrence is a great host and I am looking forward to more classes with him. This is a great event for the price
The pasta-making class was lots of fun: we made two kinds of pasta dishes with delicious sauces, and an amazing olive oil cake for dessert. Our teacher Lawrence serenaded us with his operatic vocal stylings. He also has a great sense of humor, so everyone felt comfortable and relaxed. At the end, we sat down to a feast of our own creations, with wine and interesting conversation. I think these classes would be a great activity for couples to share.
Chef Lawrence is a talented performer and energetic host. He manages the chaos of amateur chefs with grace and good humor. The lasagne we made was the best I've eaten, even in Italy-so light that it almost floated out of the pan. Bravo!
Lawrence is not only a talented singer/songwriter, he is a gifted gourmand with a lively stage and personal presence, and a great sense of humor. Don't pass up an opportunity to spend a few hours with him and learn some of his impressive and oh-so-delicious culinary secrets! You'll have fun, meet some great people, prepare, cook and taste some delightful foods, too.
I have been to three of these classes, and I must say they are a hoot! Great food, super techniques and you are serenaded throughout by the chef (who is very talented!) - along with some fun sing-a-longs for the students. A very welcoming atmosphere. A must for any foodie!
I had a terrific time at Cooking a Capella. Mr. Rush is entertaining, informative, and an expert in all things culinary. Most of all, he has a persuasive way of making you excited about food. And where else do you get serenaded in a cooking class?! I loved the experience!
We did the "Cheeses of Northwestern France" class. Lots of fun, and Lawrence's energy and personality got all the participants talking and enjoying themselves. Even though I consider myself educated about foods in general I learned things I didn't know about french cheeses (which were all delicious.) The only criticism might be that we started late because two people were late (and ultimately didn't show up) but if it had been me that was late I'd have appreciated it.
We have sent a request to your sales rep and they will be in touch with you soon.
