Prepare classic Creole recipes perfect for Mardi Gras or just to ease the winter chill.

Due to a wide mix of cultures contributing to the cuisine, Creole is all about variety. Exotic flavors and elegance meld together with soul-warming comfort foods in this hands-on class with Chef Shelley.

You will start with savory Cajun blackened salmon over a Creole succotash. Next, you will learn how to prepare a dark roux for gumbo with andouille sausage, chicken and okra. Finish with an old fashioned banana pudding with meringue and a discussion on the difference between Cajun and Creole cuisines as you enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I booked chef Shelley for my best friend's birthday and it was one of the best gifts I could have given her. We enjoyed and loved the whole experience. The place was nicely decorated and the cooking experience was outstanding. We did not want the day to come to an end. We enjoyed every second of it. I would definitely book chef Shelley again and again and again...?

Shelley is a great personality, very sweet and thoughtful. Highly recommend you try one of her classes! My girlfriend and I have tried other chef/cooking experiences in DC and this was our favorite!
