Perfect your sushi-making skills with Chef Motoko.
Surprise your dinner guests with a colorful selection of sushi. Chef Motoko’s recipes are based around the Japanese philosophy of soshoku, or frugal meal. Traditionally made up of a soup, a side dish and rice, this style of eating has become the norm in most Japanese households due to its health benefits.
Discover the techniques to two different kinds of sushi, a basic sushi roll and an eye-catching rope sushi. Chef Motoko will guide you through sushi basics including rice seasoning, fish cutting, rolling, and slicing. Create a complete Japanese dinner by learning the recipes to a homemade miso soup and marinated vegetables.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Motoko is a Japanese chef and author who specializes in invigorating, flavorful, and unique Japanese cuisine. Chef Motoko prides herself on her beautiful vegetable garden from where she sources many of her ingredients. She often picks the vegetables the day of the class; some of which are less well known outside of Japan. Her teaching style is unpretentious, friendly, and easy to understand.
