What You’ll Do

Learn chefs’ secrets for preparing picture-perfect sweet and savory croissants.

In this 3-hour cooking class, you’ll prepare two types of classic croissants from start to finish. An expert chef shares tips for laminating dough, crafting delicious fillings and rolling your handmade croissants. You’ll master time-honored techniques as you create savory roasted leek and gruyere croissants along with sweet, buttery and ultra-flaky pan au chocolat.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

After pursuing culinary school and retiring from teaching, Chef Karen became a chef instructor in 2019. Promoted to Culinary Lead in 2020, she continued to excel, recently stepping into the role of Resident Chef. Working as a Chef Instructor has rekindled her passion for food and sharing culinary knowledge with every guest she meets.

I took the croissant class, and would say that it is a good social/group activity, but not the best venue for learning how to make croissants at home. The positives were that the chefs were pretty personable and the class was enjoyable and an appropriate duration, I just wish the structure were slightly different. I would say that my overall experience was mixed. I was somewhat annoyed at several things in the class. One is that the clock was fast, so the class started before 9am on phones. In addition to that, the chefs were very quick to jump in and do things for us rather than letting us figure it out in pursuit of learning. I would also say that it is silly that the chef didn't have their own batch going for demonstration, and rather used one of the class groups' items to display what to do. Finally, something that you can't really address at the class price point is that I didn't like being in a group with 3 other people while trying to learn an individual pursuit as two of them were somewhat clumsy in the kitchen, and the third had an inflated sense of their own abilities and kept messing up the group's items. Pairs would be fine, but 4 is too much.
