Chef Mell spirits you away to the kitchens of Spain in this tapas-centered cooking class. Discover the heritage behind these shareable dishes as you recreate a selection of popular regional recipes.

Begin your lesson with traditional gazpacho, a cold tomato cucumber soup with the spicy kick of chipotle. Assemble bruschetta topped with steak and blue cheese and a tangy onion bacon jam, and cook up patatas bravas featuring garlic and smoky paprika. Finish up by creating authentic flan served with fresh raspberries.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

On the positive side, the food was absolutely delicious! The potatoes tapas were particularly flavorful with an amazing spice blend. We also loved the bacon jam. The disappointments were: 1. It wasn’t a cooking class (we watched the meal being prepared). We had to ask the chef about what he was doing- he wasn’t forthcoming about what he was doing so we could learn from him. 2. Two of the four courses were premade, as were some of the components of the other courses 3. One of those courses didn’t make it to our house, so we only had three courses. We understand this can happen, but we only learned about the missing dish halfway through the meal. 4. It was a bit challenging to keep the conversation going. The chef kept getting take phone calls. 5. The steak tapas were a little light on the meat.
