Learn to create classic Latin hand pies with a variety of authentic regional fillings.
Empanadas are a time-honored treat from the world of Latin cuisine, as you'll discover in this informative hands-on cooking class with Chef Doug. He'll share the heritage and history of these sweet and savory hand pies while teaching you to create them for yourself.
Start with a lesson in distinctive doughs needed for each regional empanada specialty. Then, you'll prepare different fillings to add to your pies: Puerto Rican picadillo, Chilean shrimp and Filipino chicken. For dessert, whip up an apple-filled empanada with homemade dulce de leche.
Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Doug was fantastic. He did a ton of prep to get our meal dialed in, and then taught us how to do the shopping for the special ingredients and prepare all the recipes while improving our skills. The food was amazing - a phenomenal meal - and it was great fun spending the day with Doug.

Our experience with Chef Doug was fantastic! Not only was the food amazing, but he was wonderful company to have over for the evening and he left our kitchen cleaner than it was when he arrived. We can’t wait to try the recipes he left us again and can’t recommend him enough!

Chef Doug was just excellent. I could tell he really cared about my girlfriend and I learning and having an excellent evening. The food was delicious and I’d be happy to try cooking the main course sometime soon. Chef Doug is an all around good person who gave us a great experience.
