Learn a distinctly South American take on creating a flame-cooked meal with all the trimmings.

Take a lesson in the art of Argentine grilling in this hands-on cooking class with Chef Gustavo. Create an authentic parrillada, a fire-cooked spread for meat lovers, while learning the finer points of open-flame cooking and gathering a world of knowledge about the culinary traditions of Argentina.

Begin with a tangy chimichurri and a zesty salsa criolla, both made from scratch using the freshest ingredients available. Then, you'll prepare authentic achuras featuring grilled sausages before preparing a magnificent main course of grilled short ribs and outside skirt steak.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Gustavo was great! He explained everything, showed us proper techniques for cutting and chopping and gave us some insights into Argentine customs and grilling. Highly recommend him and his classes

Always a fun night with Chef Gustavo. Good conversation- he makes everyone feel like part of a family while we cook and eat together. This was our second meal with him. We would definitely book a third. We did three types of meat - they were so good. I was a skeptic when he only seasoned with salt, but wow just cooking over the flame added such flavor, salt was all you needed.

Latin American cuisine is what Chef Gustavo is all about. As the owner and executive chef of Rumba Café in Adams Morgan for 20 years, he understands this cuisine more than anything else. He draws his inspiration from his own travels through Latin America, the Caribbean, France, Spain and more. He studied at L’ Academie de Cuisine and is knowledgeable in French cuisine as well. He is available to teach classes in both English and Spanish.
