Get ready to learn the basic skills and techniques needed for making sushi at home.
In this hands-on cooking class with Chef Tova, you will learn how to make sushi at home using fresh, high-quality ingredients and easy-to-master, time-honored Japanese sushi-making techniques.
Chef Tova will begin by teaching you how to identify high-quality, sushi-grade fish as well as the proper way to prepare sushi rice and the basic knife skills needed for preparing fish and vegetables. Then, you will learn how to assemble and beautifully display four different sushi rolls, including an avocado roll, spicy tuna roll and a salmon roll.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Tova is great! She has a lot of experience teaching classes and you can definitely tell when you're working with her. She explains techniques and methods thoroughly and is happy to answer any questions along the way. She is also very experienced in the kitchen and her food is interesting and fun. I highly recommend Chef Tova for anyone in the NYC area.
Meet your chef
After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Tova began working as a freelance chef and private chef for many A-list celebrities and high-profile clients in NYC. She specializes in plant-based, farm-to-table cuisine and her motto in the kitchen is "start simple, end exceptional." Chef Tova currently owns and operates her own business and has recently been cast for a new cooking competition series on Netflix.
