Cooking Class - Sushi Roll Techniques

Chef Ivan will take you on a journey through the fresh, flavorful world of sushi.

Making sushi is one of the highest arts found in Japanese cuisine. Learn how to choose fresh ingredients, prepare the components and roll the perfect roll with Chef Ivan.

Begin the hands-on class with a light and flavorful miso soup with seaweed, radish, tofu and scallions. Next, comes an assortment of sushi: Spicy tuna roll with avocado; California roll with crab, cucumber and mayonnaise; and an Alaskan roll with smoked salmon, surimi, avocado and cucumber. Finish on a sweet note with handmade matcha ice cream.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

We loved the class and chef Ivan was patient, informative, and warm. We would have loved to learn more about selecting the fish and preparing it (proper sourcing, slicing technique, etc.) but recognize time is limited. Perhaps this information can be included in the information provided after the class?
