Cooking Class - Classic Hainanese Chicken
This three-course cooking class with Chef Nancy is chock full of Asian cooking techniques to take your kitchen know-how up a notch or two.
Start out with a refreshing cucumber salad with sesame dressing, then poach Hainanese chicken in chicken broth simmering with ginger, leeks and lemongrass. You'll also learn to prepare Hainanese chicken soup and rice. Next, mix three classic sauces to accompany each savory course: sweet soy sauce, chili-vinegar dip and ginger and garlic in sesame sauce. For dessert, you'll enjoy palitaw – rice flour dumpling with grated coconut and burnt sesame seeds. Chef Nancy will provide fortune cookies for extra crunch.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
