Team Building Activity - Sweet and Savory Baking 101

Join Chef Ivan or a resident chef on this sweet and savory baking journey.

Learn how to make handmade baked treats from two basic dough recipes in this hands-on team building experience. With high-quality ingredients on hand, Chef Ivan will introduce your team to the basics of baking stuffed rolls and from-scratch pizza using a simple bread roll dough and a pizza dough.

Using your bread dough, your team will stuff and bake them with fillings like mushrooms, leeks, Nutella or jam. Then, switch to pizza dough for a lesson in rolling, topping and baking the perfect pie. End with hazelnut chocolate pralines for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Overall the experience was very disappointing for my team. We only get to do team events once every two months, and had saved up two events worth of budget to do this. The chef didn’t seem to have much patience for people to learn, which we think is a big part of the experience. Sometimes the way she communicated directions or feedback was quite passive-aggressive (good directions but phrased in a slightly negative way). A lot of people felt like it wasn’t as much of a cooking class, but more of a cutting/chopping class. We would have loved to be more hands-on but instead the chef did a bunch of the work. There was also a helper there who cleaned everything and prepped some of the kitchen, who the chef never acknowledged, which we thought was strange/rude. The food tasted good though.
