Online Cooking Class - Basic Beginner Knife Skills
Sharpen your knife skills during this engaging and informative cooking class.
Learn the art of using and maintaining your knives during this online cooking class! Follow along as the gourmet instructor gives you a crash course on choosing, storing, sharpening and slicing with a chef's knife. As you learn the techniques and practice your skills by slicing fresh vegetables, you'll whip up a seasonal Italian vegetable soup to serve as a comforting reward. Using and caring for your knife is an essential part of being successful in the kitchen and this hands-on class is a perfect place to start!
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Ingredients
SHOPPING LIST for KNIFE SKILLS
1 pound potatoes, yellow or red
1 pound zucchini
2 stalks celery
2 carrots
1 bunch fresh parsley
1 bunch Swiss chard or kale or collard greens
2 onions
1 head garlic
1 bell pepper (red, yellow, or orange)
4 Kumato or Campari tomatoes (or 1 pound any kind)
Optional additions for the soup (not necessary, but lovely): 1 small block Parmigiano cheese (with rind), 3 anchovies, 1/2 cup white wine, 1 sprig rosemary or thyme, 1 quart chicken broth
