My girlfriend and I loved this class! Evan and Matty were as professional, friendly and knowledgeable as you can be. We had a great time and can't recommend this enough to anyone who wants to learn how to make sushi!

Evan and his team were amazing! They made it a very fun environment for us to make sushi. All the ingredients were super fresh and there was plenty of sushi to take home! All so delicioussss. I did this as a date night out but I would come back with friends and family too! Evan, I’ll definitely be back!

My husband, Dan, and I found this Donabe cooking class to be incredible. Chef Evan taught us how to slowly meld the ingredients together patiently to achieve a wonderful blend of flavors. Without using exact measurements, we learned to taste frequently to get the perfect end product. Leftovers that we took home were marvelous the next day. We already gave him a tip to show our appreciation.

Had an awesome time! Very helpful and willing to teach without being overbearing. Loved how fresh the ingredients were and how we could take home what we made. Both chefs showed the utmost expertise and professionalism! Would definitely recommend to friends!

I really enjoyed the session. It was casual, conversational, and informative! I would have loved Chef Evan to provide a print out to attendees that details a) how to make sticky rice, and b) sushi recipes for things like California Roll, Spicy Tuna, etc.

Booked the class Donabe: Japanese One Pot Wonder with Chef Evan in East Bay (Downtown Oakland)

We drove for three hours on a Sunday for Chef Evan's class. When we arrived, the entrance was locked and we found the rest of the class waiting outside. No one was able to reach Chef Evan, and even Cozymeal was unable to contact him the entire day and day after. After waiting for another half an hour, we finally gave up and left. The chef had been nonresponsive and uncommunicative the entire weeks since we booked - the red flags are obvious in hindsight.
