With a culinary education that took root early in her mother’s home, Chef Kaori’s cooking pedigree dates back two generations to her grandmother’s ramen shop in Fukushima, Japan. She brings her expertise to this hands-on class where you will get to explore the authentic ingredients and techniques of Japanese cuisine.

Discover the art of creating vegan gyoza dumplings — and learning the proper techniques to fold, pleat and cook each one. Also, learn how to make homemade vegan ramen noodles and an irresistable soy miso ramen broth, complete with assorted toppings.

Chef Kaori’s history with ramen is quite extensive. Drawing inspiration from her grandmother’s ownership of a ramen shop in Japan, Chef Kaori has been trained in traditional Japanese soup and noodles. Thanks to apprenticeships in Italy, France and Thailand, Chef Kaori’s cuisine ranges from Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and Indian. Her passion is teaching students of all ages the importance of connecting to one's heritage and bringing people together through a love of food.
