Cooking Class - Authentic Italian Country Cooking

What You'll Do

Learn Chef Marty's exquisite Italian recipes passed down from her grandmothers' table.

Chef Marty brings decades of culinary expertise and years of learning from her Tuscan grandmothers to this class on authentic Italian cooking. Master the tips and tricks needed to create perfect minestrone soup and eggplant parmesan every time.

Learn how to make minestrone, a hearty bean vegetable Tuscan soup. For this delicious appetizer, Chef Marty uses ingredients that are plentiful in the Tuscan countryside, including cannellini beans, Tuscan kale, onions, carrots, and celery. Chef Marty will teach you how to make eggplant parmesan the healthy way, by baking instead of frying and using real Parmigiano cheese. Finally, you'll learn how to make a classic Seville dessert: A delectable orange cake.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

The cuisine of Tuscany has its roots deep in the countryside where the ingredients are plentiful and are brought to market fresh daily. The recipes are simple and have survived the test of time. We put our history of beautiful skin, creative minds and wellness on the table, and this history is still alive today! I was trained by my grandmothers in Tuscany, and I can teach you to quickly prepare fresh, quality meals that are delicious and nutritious.

Chef Marty is a “farm” to table rustic Italian Chef. We learned recipes and technique during our time with her.

Our team did Marta’s Italian cooking lesson as an offsite and it was a huge hit. Marta made everyone feel welcome, from beginners to foodies. Great instruction, lots of laughs, and amazing food. Perfect mix of skill-building + bonding. Highly recommend for any team looking for a unique activity. Thanks Marta for hosting us!

Great! Exceeded my expectations. Chef Marty provides a charismatic experience that helps you understand not only how to cook like a chef, but I would argue, she teaches you how to think like a chef, paying attention to so many details I would normally overlook. Her approach is holistic, paying attention to timing, color, texture, aroma, even ambient humidity! And so much more that I learned last night, I can't list them all here. So many things go into what you see on the plate, and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher to help me appreciate the art of cooking. High recommendations from Zen. Thanks again Marty. I'll have to bust out my fresh pasta making skills for friends and family one of these days.
