What You'll Do

Learn how to create a buffet of flavors with a feast of Korean small plates.

Join Chef Shinya in this hands-on cooking class where you'll handcraft traditional Korean side dishes, called banchan. They are essential to any meal and are a great way to experience an abundance of flavor.

First, learn how to cook up crispy Korean pancakes, and stew together short ribs, yellow onions and carrots for galbi-tang, a classic soup. After steaming fluffy rice, you'll stir fry fish cakes with vegetables, and blanch fresh spinach to be coated in sesame oil and sea salt. And no banchan would be complete without authentic dipping sauce!

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Shinya was great! He provided a lot of background and explanation every step of the way. My family had a great time and the food was incredible! My dad was already prepared to sign up for even more classes.

Chef Shinya was fun and educational. He opens up his home for an intimate cooking and learning experience. I learned a lot about the dishes we were making and he made it seem so simple. I learned a lot about cooking oils and the expeditious way to cook my galbi tang! I really didn't know what to experience but so glad I did and my friends joined! Thank you!
