Social Distancing Friendly Learn to cook with the bold flavors and irresistible energy of the Caribbean.
Throw on your favorite Reggae tracks and jam out with Chef Desmond as he unveils his Jamaican cuisine expertise. Whether you're new to Jamaican cuisine or not, this interactive cooking class will introduce you to the invigorating flavors and aromas of authentic Caribbean ingredients.
Begin class by cooking a peppery, saucy shrimp dish, followed by prepping the ingredients for an authentic Caribbean-style jerked chicken., Next, prepare a savory vegetable stew known regionally as Callaloo to enjoy alongside your jerked chicken main course. Finally, whip up a delectable, fresh coconut cream pie to finish your feast.
Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Excellent! Absolutely amazing experience learning to cook from Chef Desmond. The recipes were delicious and he was an excellent teacher. You will not be disappointed!

Overall, the food was good and Chef Desmond was very kind. I would’ve given 3.5 stars if I could. The reason for less stars is 1) because we felt very rushed throughout the meal. We barely had time to finish each course before chef desmond was taking our plates and serving new ones. I don’t know if he had somewhere else to be but it felt like he was just itching to get out of our house and so we couldn’t really take our time to enjoy the meal. 2) the main course wasn’t really seasoned. the tuna was bland, the green beans were bland, and some of the potatoes were uncooked, which doesn’t feel right considering how much we paid. I think maybe the rushing may have contributed to that. 3) he wouldn’t leave our house without a tip, and I was planning to give him one anyway through cozymeal, but it just felt odd the way he went about it. Overall, not a bad experience, but I likely wouldn’t do it again. At least not at this price point.
Chef Desmond loves using inventive methods to teach others about food and nutrition. He’s even created educational rap lyrics on the subject! He holds a master's degree in nutritional studies from Cambridge, has co-created several textbooks and is currently working his own cookbook. He’s also been featured in print and television, including "Best Leftovers Ever" on Netflix. Chef Desmond is excited to share his creative energy with aspiring chefs of all skill levels.
